About the role: 

 

The Sr. Business Process Manager is a pivotal member of the enterprise Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) implementation team, responsible for building the governance and sustainment of the PPM business processes. The role requires strong knowledge of Boston Scientific’s internal PLCP process, AOP processes, and PMO’s portfolio and project and resource management methodologies.  The role also requires a mix of business acumen and judgment, fact-based decision making, and ability to quickly grasp technologies and global business perspective. Strong process development capabilities, ability to drive to strategic insight, communication and presentation skills are required. 

 

Your responsibilities: 

 

  • Develop and execute strategies and plans, including timelines, resource allocation, key dependencies, and risk mitigation strategies. 

  • Works collaboratively with divisional PMO representatives, representing divisional perspective on PPM technical core team. 

  • Synergizing all divisional perspectives to inform design across project planning, resource & financial management, resolving diverging needs. 

  • Supports design of future state operating model and PPM system. 

  • Develops constructive and collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders (Finance, PMOs, IT, etc.) 

  • Develops, maintains, and enhances documentation to ensure successful implementation. 

  • Requires functional, technical, and industry knowledge to anticipate technical developments and identify opportunities for innovation. 

  • Directs the resolution of highly complex problems looking beyond existing methodologies to define and resolve complex problems. 

  • Adept at identifying project risks and opportunities. 

  • Serves as a thought leader in own job function (s) and has comprehensive understanding of multiple related job functions. 

 

Required qualifications: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Finance/Business or technical degree.  

  • 5+ years medical device project management office (PMO) experience or other portfolio management focused environment  

  • 10+ years work experience 

  • Preferred experiences include:  

  • Planning and documenting standard operating procedures/business processes. 

  • Mapping and streamlining business processes 

  • Portfolio & Project Management expertise 

  • R&D financial budgeting and forecasting. 

  • Knowledge in BSC systems, such as PPMS, Project Home, Planned RST, SAP, Kronos, and SuccessFactors. 

  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing business processes.  

  • Strong business acumen, knowledge driven decision-making, and ability to quickly ramp up on new technologies.   

  • Ability and desire to develop best practices and governance for portfolio and project management (PPM) software with minimal oversight.  

  • Possess a strong work ethic with a commitment to continuous improvement and drive to exceed expectations. 

  • Certifications in project management, change management, lean sigma  

  • Up to 20% travel to internal sites
