As Director, PMO – Access Solutions, you will lead the execution of new product development and sustaining programs within Boston Scientific’s Access Solutions franchise. You will drive cross-functional alignment and operational excellence to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality medical device products that create meaningful value for physicians and patients while supporting portfolio growth.
Work model, sponsorship, relocation:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our Mississauga, Ontario, Canada office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Your responsibilities will include:
● Provide functional leadership and people management for a team of project managers and technical project support staff, including recruiting, coaching, performance management and talent development.
● Lead, through others, multiple complex cross-site, cross-functional and cross-business programs supporting the research, development and introduction of electromechanical capital equipment and consumable and durable medical devices.
● Establish and deploy project management tools, processes and standard ways of working to drive consistency and operational excellence.
● Own program performance against approved charters, plans, budgets, schedules and quality requirements, communicating status and risks to senior stakeholders and divisional leadership.
● Develop and maintain consolidated resource and capacity plans across multiple programs and portfolios.
● Identify, assess and mitigate business and execution risks across programs.
● Provide indirect leadership and coaching to cross-functional team members assigned to programs, including R&D, Operations, Quality, Technical Publications and other functions.
● Model and reinforce Boston Scientific core values, quality systems, employee health and safety, and engagement expectations.
● Perform other duties as required.
Required qualifications:
● Minimum of 10 years' experience in progressively responsible project or program management within a regulated industry.
● Minimum of 5 years' experience in people management, including leading managers or senior individual contributors.
● Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience (minimum of 12 years' experience in relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree).
● Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional product development or sustaining programs across multiple sites.
● Advanced knowledge of business and operational practices within a medical device or similarly regulated environment.
● Ability to travel up to 25%, both domestic and international.
Preferred qualifications:
● Master’s degree in engineering, business administration or a related field.
● Experience within the medical device industry, particularly in new product development or sustaining engineering programs.
● Formal project management training or certification (e.g., PMP).
● Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and decision-makers without direct authority.
● Prior experience at Boston Scientific.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
Compensation for hourly, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
Compensation for salaried, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
Compensation for sales roles is governed by Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives).
