Equipment Engineering Associate, Co-op/New Grad

About the role 

In our Equipment Engineering Department, our employees focus on the improvement, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of production equipment, tools, and processes to produce high-tech devices used in medical procedures. Our equipment employees gain exposure to manufacturing practices such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, ISO and OSHA standards. 

 

This position is a 12-month co-op/new grad/PEY placement beginning May/June 2024.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • You will assist in development, improvement, maintenance, and calibration activities relating to production tools, processes, and layouts.
  • You will perform validation tests, analyze results, and submit the result documentation for approval.
  • You will perform Installation Qualifications for new or repaired tools and submit the result documentation for approval.
  • You will comply with the Health and Safety policies of the company and inform management of unsafe working conditions. 
  • You will help keep cleanliness and orderliness in the maintenance room and production areas.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Actively working towards a Degree in Engineering. 
  • Strong interest in biomedical technology and manufacturing 
  • Motivated self-starter with a hands-on approach
  • Ability to work independently and with a diverse group of Engineers, Technologists, Technicians, and Production Staff
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Knowledge and experience in Solidworks and Microsoft Office software 

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in the proper use of measuring tools (electrical and mechanical), hand tools, and power tools
  • Six Sigma or LEAN knowledge
  • Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment
