About the Role:
Join our team at Boston Scientific as a Machinist, where you'll be responsible for machining tools, jigs, and fixtures used in the development and manufacturing of medical devices. You'll work from designs to create and execute the machining process of parts, and support the design team by providing feedback on machinability and material specifications for their intended use.
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows an Onsite work model, requiring employees to be in our local office five days per week. Please note that relocation assistance and employment VISA sponsorship are not available for this position at this time.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Reviewing job packages by reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, or drawings to identify design impracticalities and formulate the production process.
- Clarifying design feasibility issues with engineers to ensure parts are machined to meet specifications.
- Determining the sequence of operations, number and type of cuts required, and method of setup.
- Preparing parts for machining, programming computer and milling machines, and operating a variety of manual and automatic machines.
- Monitoring parts through production by visual observation and referencing blueprints to ensure products meet specifications.
- Performing preventative maintenance tasks on machines.
- Repairing malfunctioning shop equipment and machines.
Required Qualifications:
- Licensed Machinist with 10 years of experience.
- Proficient in reading blueprints.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ability to program, set up, and operate wire EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining).
- Experience operating manual mills and lathes.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to support team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in troubleshooting and conducting design reviews for errors and missing information.
- Certification in GD&T.
- Proficiency in CAD software.
- Knowledge of metrology.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. Compensation for hourly, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
Compensation for salaried, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
Compensation for sales roles is governed by Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives).
