About the role:
We are searching for a Process Engineer II to join the Process Engineering Drafting Team at our BSC Access Solutions Site in Mississauga, ON. You will be part of a team of talented mechanical engineers and specialists who create and support engineering solutions for our manufacturing and production line equipment transfer/inspection requirements adhering to BSC guidelines. You will assist in implementing and supporting equipment design and drafting for medical device manufacturing.
 
This is a 6-month contract position with a possibility of extension.
 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provides support to existing tools and equipment for sustaining and equipment transfer initiatives in the areas of equipment design and drafting.
  • Ensures technical outcomes are consistent with established engineering principles and practices and that customer and company technical, system, performance, and quality requirements are met.  
  • Work closely with cross-functional engineers, technologists, and production staff as required to ensure that the equipment can be operated effectively.   
  • Project planning (i.e., project scheduling/phasing, subcontract planning, resource planning, budget planning, commissioning planning)  
  • Interface with equipment vendors and contractors to troubleshoot and resolve startup issues. 
  • Prioritizes project work and tracks progress towards completion.  Ensures that completed projects meet customer expectations and timelines. 
  • Working on mechanical designs consistent with design and drafting requirements and advanced design criteria 
  • Providing support and expertise to process engineering and other cross-functional departments for troubleshooting and upgrading tools and equipment. 
  • Providing engineering support to new product introduction process 
  • Designing and providing optimal mechanical design and drafting solutions using CAD modeling for assigned projects. 
  • Adhere to all requirements of the Quality Management System 
  • Conduct and maintain process risk assessment activities to identify critical process parameters and develop appropriate control plans to mitigate risks. 
  • Create process engineering documentation as required. 
  • Comply with the Health & Safety policies of the company and inform Management of unsafe working conditions. 
  • Some international travel is expected (up to 20%) 
  • Other duties as required. 

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or an equivalent field  
  • 2-3 years of engineering / related work experience preferably in a regulated environment 
  • Strong proficiency in 3D modeling (SolidWorks preferred) with minimum 3 years of hands-on experience creating CAD models/ drawings and working with equipment, tooling, and fixtures. 
  • Experience with using measuring devices and tools to accurately measure and analyze critical dimensions.
  • Understanding of common manufacturing techniques such as CNC machining, EDM, Laser cutting, wire cutting etc. 
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and within ma team in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.  
  • Experience in basic drafting principles and GD&T 
  • Strong root cause analysis skills 
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills (both written and oral) 
  • Proficient in MS Office 

 
Preferred qualifications:

  • CSWA/ CSWP certification 
  • Additive manufacturing experience 
  • Experience working in PDM (Product Data Management) and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) environment 
  • Experience in process validation, process FMEA and project management
  • Lean or Six Sigma training

Maximum Salary: $113700 

 

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for hourly, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for salaried, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for sales roles is governed by Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives).
