About the role
The R&D Specialist II at Boston Scientific architects, designs, and develops frameworks for system design information and documentation strategy. Specifically, the person in this role will work closely with other R&D personnel as well as cross-functional team members in Design Assurance, Regulatory, and other functions to design the system in which we capture, document, and trace our design information to support new product development, regulatory submissions, and sustaining activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing system and subsystem design data, such as requirements, to ensure their traceability using a requirements management tool.
- Participating in the development of system design data architectures.
- Participating in project team activities to generate system design data, such as requirements, within the developed data architectures
- Supporting creation and writing of technical reports.
- Supporting design change assessments for new and supported products.
- Working within a cross-functional team and represent R&D on cross-functional deliverables.
- Continuously improving processes and working methods to contribute to the resolution of complex and interdisciplinary problems, while interfacing with peers and cross-functional groups.
- Other duties as required.
Required qualifications:
- 2+ years experience in a similar role in the medical device or related industry
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or Technical Writing
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Demonstrated ability to communicate abstract concepts and complex ideas
- Experience in document control, preferably in an ISO environment
Preferred qualifications:
- Previous experience with requirements management tools
- Previous experience working with eQMS and PLM software

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
Compensation for hourly, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
Compensation for salaried, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
Compensation for sales roles is governed by Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives).
