R&D Technical Writing Associate, Co-op/New Grad

This position is a 12-month co-op/new grad placement beginning May 2025.

 

About the role
The R&D Technical Writing Associate will assist in the creation and revision of complex technical writing reports and documentation. They will also participate in the full scope of technical writing activities, including editing and creating SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), templates, and labeling. They will also liaise with key stakeholders within the company to drive technical writing deliverables. 

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct documentation activities in compliance with quality practices and procedures.
  • Collaborate with SMEs to gather technical information as required and/or independently research available engineering information such as drawings, design reports, equipment and test specifications.
  • Edit technical content in support of product and/or process development projects including document updates, incorporating reviewer inputs, re-writing of existing material and updating of new documentation. Document activities may include fields of design, process, production, maintenance and regulatory affairs.
  • Liaise cross-functionally with all business units/SMEs for technical review.
  • Prepare documents through internal Quality Management System (eQMS) and track approval process.
  • Other duties as required.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Actively enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a degree in Engineering or Technical Writing
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and in a group environment
  • Ability to reliably meet deadlines and project objectives

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Demonstrated competence as a Technical Writer or Engineer through previous Co-ops and course projects is preferred
  • Previous experience working with eQMS is a great asset
