About the role:
This position is responsible for the design, development, validation, verification, and implementation of new and revised equipment or integrated systems of equipment within manufacturing/development processes. They are a key member of the product realization teams to ensure equipment suitability for product manufacturability and successful transfer to production. They plan for all project activities, participate in defining the project scope and targets as related to manufacturing equipment. They are expected to prepare documentation in accordance with the Quality Management System, and to develop innovative equipment solutions and new best practices for equipment utilization.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Serve as a key member of the product development team, acting as the lead designer for equipment and integrated systems.
- Take ownership of, and/or author, design input and output documentation specifically related to manufacturing equipment and system configurations.
- Conduct and maintain equipment risk assessment activities (including equipment-focused FMEA’s) to identify critical equipment parameters and develop appropriate control plans to mitigate equipment-related risks.
- Develop validation plans, protocols, and equipment control strategies to ensure reliable and compliant operation.
- Comply with the company’s Health & Safety policies and promptly report any unsafe equipment conditions to Management.
- Adhere to all requirements outlined in the Quality Management System when designing, installing, or modifying equipment.
- Demonstrate company values, work with integrity, and contribute positively as a collaborative corporate team member.
- Perform other duties as required in support of equipment engineering initiatives.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, preferably in Mechanical, Mechatronics/Robotics or Electrical Engineering
- 6+ years of relevant working experience
- 1+ years of medical device manufacturing experience or similarly regulated industry
- Experience in equipment design/development and design for manufacturability
- Experience in equipment validation, FMEA and project management
- Experience in Lean manufacturing principles
- Excellent analytical and communication skills (both written and oral)
- Strategic planning, organization and time management skills are critical
- Proficient in MS Office
- Ability to travel if required (US)
Preferred qualifications:
- Certification in Solidworks, GD&T or similar
- PLC programming certification/training
- Metrology focused certification/training
- Lean or Six Sigma training desired

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
Compensation for hourly, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
Compensation for salaried, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
Compensation for sales roles is governed by Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives).
