About the role
The Global Scientific Affairs Specialist strategically partners with physician key opinion leaders (KOLs) to develop and disseminate the clinical and scientific evidence supporting key BSC Access Solutions and Electrophysiology technologies. This person will create and support strategic clinical and scientific initiatives in support of investigator-led and collaborative research, podiums, and scientific symposia to endorse BSC’s high growth adjacencies and key product portfolios. Additionally, a successful individual will establish strong collaborative relations with internal cross-functional partners (clinical, marketing, and R&D) to reinforce commercialization and support product adoption through Scientific Affairs and clinical evidence.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and maintain a high level of expertise pertaining to all marketed and pipeline products, as well as a solid knowledge base of current data developments and clinical trends in electrophysiology and structural heart interventions.
- Design comprehensive clinical evidence strategies to support the market launch of new products in the Access Solutions portfolio.
- Partner with key opinion leaders to deepen the understanding of clinical needs and build the scientific story to align with the priorities defined in the global evidence strategy.
- Convey KOL inputs to influence internal strategies related to evidence gaps, clinical trial design and competitive landscape.
- Provide KOLs with content development support for scientific and educational forums supporting BSC technologies.
- Establish strong collaborative relations with internal cross-functional partners (Clinical, Marketing, Medical Education and R&D) to reinforce and align the clinical and commercial messages through Scientific Affairs.
- Develop and execute evidence generation strategies through the Collaborative Clinical Research and/or ISR programs.
- Train and educate the commercial organization on key data releases in partnership with Sales and Marketing.
- Attend scientific conferences and programs in relevant therapeutic areas to maintain current knowledge. Overnight travel (15-25%) to scientific conferences and other meetings to support research activities within and outside the U.S.
Required qualifications:
- Master’s degree in life sciences or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry or clinical research experience (medical devices, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology) in a related function such as clinical, research, marketing, medical affairs or product development
- Knowledge of clinical issues associated with cardiology and rhythm management gained through direct or comparable relevant experience in a therapeutic area, scientific or clinical setting is acceptable
- Strong scientific and medical writing acumen
Preferred qualifications:
- PhD degree in Life Sciences or a related field
- Demonstrable experience managing projects, preferably on a global level
- Working knowledge of clinical research life cycle and statistical methods with an emphasis on publication planning and execution.
- Proven record of developing, presenting and publishing clinical and/or scientific data
