About the Role:
The Mechanical Engineer I uses their expertise in the definition, design and testing of medical device products as part of the development of EP ablation medical devices. As a member of EP's mechanical equipment design team in Montreal, they will contribute to development by designing and testing mechanical products for the delivery of treatment. Furthermore, they will have the opportunity to take charge and direct studies.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Creates advanced CAD models of parts, assemblies and equipment using SolidWorks tools and SolidWorks Electrical.
- Creates drawings in SolidWorks following internal Global Boston Scientific Corporation CAD standards and templates.
- Uses CAD Database Management tool to track drawings, parts, assemblies’ revisions and properties.
- Researches, develops, designs and evaluates mechanical and electro-mechanical material, components, assemblies, processes and/or equipment.
- Conducts feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality.
- Develops new concepts from initial design to market release.
- Directs support personnel and coordinates project activities.
- Maintains detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Required minimum years of experience: 3 years with CAD Software such as SolidWorks and 2 years with Engineering experience.
- Strong mechanical engineering skills, specifically with plumbing, tubing assemblies and sheet metal design using a CAD software.
- Solid lab experience with debug, fixtures, and test equipment.
- Ability to provide technical leadership related to product and process design.
- Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical inputs from multiple and varied sources.
- Excellent organizational, communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with motors, gears and/or motor control applications.
- Experience with rapid prototyping.
- Experience with geometrical tolerancing and thermal analysis.
- Experience with thermodynamics and flow analysis.
- Experience using Solidworks Electrical 2D schematic and 3D Routing.

Responsabilités
- Crée des modèles CAD avancés de pièces, d'assemblages et d'équipements à l'aide des outils SolidWorks et SolidWorks Electrical.
- Crée des dessins dans SolidWorks conformément aux normes et modèles CAD internes de Global Boston Scientific Corporation.
- Utilise l'outil de gestion de base de données CAD pour suivre les dessins, les pièces, les révisions et les propriétés des assemblages.
- Rechercher, développer, concevoir et évaluer des matériaux, composants, assemblages, processus et/ou équipements mécaniques et électromécaniques.
- Effectuer des études de faisabilité pour vérifier la capacité et la fonctionnalité.
- Développer des nouveaux concepts depuis la conception initiale jusqu'à la phase de production des produits.
- Diriger le soutien personnel et coordonner les activités du projet.
- Maintient une documentation détaillée tout au long de toutes les phases de recherche et de développement.
Qualifications requises
- Baccalauréat en génie mécanique.
- Minimum d’années d’expérience professionnelle pertinente requis: 3 ans avec baccalauréat.
- Excellentes compétences en modèles CAD avancés de pièces, d'assemblages et d'équipements à l'aide des outils SolidWorks.
- Solides compétences en génie mécanique, notamment en plomberie, en assemblages de tubes et en conception de tôlerie à l'aide d'un logiciel de CAD.
- Grande expérience en laboratoire avec le débogage, les montages et l'équipement de test.
- Excellentes compétences organisationnelles, de communication et de collaboration.
Qualifications souhaitées
- Expérience avec les moteurs, les engrenages et/ou les applications de commande de moteurs.
- Expérience en prototypage rapide.
- Expérience en tolérancement géométrique et analyse thermique.
- Expérience en thermodynamique et analyse de flux.
- Expérience de l'utilisation des schémas 2D et du routage 3D de Solidworks Electrical.

Compensation for hourly, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
