About the role
The Electrical Technician will work alongside the R&D team to read and understand system/firmware requirements and come up with creative test scenarios in order to stress test a system/software. Furthermore, they will read and execute test protocols and ensure that internal documentation procedures are met while recording results. The individual will also evaluate, assemble, and maintain electrical/electronic systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Read and understand electrical/electronic schematics for the purposes of building, evaluating, testing, troubleshooting and repairing boards (through-hole and surface mount) and cabling.
- Beta test software systems to aid the development team to ensure quality product is released.
- Record and track defects in a bug tracking system.
- Execute manual/automated test cases to ensure the design meets the requirements.
- Document test results and participate in engineering report development.
- Participate in electrical/electronic prototype development.
- Works with a cross-functional team to ensure project timelines are met.
- In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product Quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented Quality processes and procedures.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s, college diploma or equivalent certificate in electro-technical, electronic or related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience as an Electrical Technician, ideally in a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, automotive, etc.)
- Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering and fault-testing equipment.
- Technical knowledge of testing concepts for electromechanical equipment.
- Good documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820.
- Good surface mount hand soldering skills.
- Working knowledge of electronic circuits.
- Knowledge of automation tools and processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills in a team environment.
- An analytical and quantitative approach to work.
- Excellent organizational, communication and collaboration skills.
