Job Description:

 

The candidate needs to be a self-motivated individual with leadership skills on project, process and people management with limited general supervision. Strong technical background and project management skill to manage new product development projects for medical device (Class I & II). The candidate should have excellent people influencing skills and leading medical device NPD. A team player to collaborate with cross function design & development teams and work with Quality, Marketing, manufacturing, Supply Chain and IP teams to delivery on Cost, Quality and Time. The candidate requires in-depth working knowledge of Project Management, product development processes, Vendor Management & Control skills. Experienced in transitioning early stage new technologies, proof of concepts in product development process.

The individual should be a team player who is willing to collaborate and work in cross functional teams across geographies and cultures. Should be comfortable working in a matrix organizational structure.

 

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

 

  • Project management of regional and/or global NPD projects or project / component modules
  •  

  • Coordinate/monitor various project activities viz. Quarterly Project financial reviews, Project milestones reviews, Weekly Core teams, Design & Development progress, Verification and Validation activities of NPD projects.
  • Identifies, communicate and manages Project / Business risks that could derail the project.
  • Resolve conflicts with team members and involve functional management as required to ensure timely project completion.
  • Leadership skills:
    • Liaison with internal stakeholders
    • Manage cross functional project teams at the regional level
    • Project status reporting- Present regular updates on project status to regional management
  • People Management
    • Assign roles & responsibilities as per project plan
  • Develop and monitor project budget (Capex, Opex) with the support of Project team and functional managers.
  • Drive results by acting with speed, agility, and adaptability, assigning clear authority and accountability while integrating and aligning efforts across units and functions
  • Develop and Lead strategies, apply Project Lifecycle Management best practices to achieve deliverables
  • Collaborate with NPD project teams for Project Planning / scheduling, Management & Execution to commercial launch as per BSC product development process (PDP) and quality systems.

 

Academic Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • 4 years bachelor’s degree in engineering (or higher) with preference Mechanical Engineering, or Plastics/Polymer Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of Project management experience in medical device field with min 2 years in hands on product design.
  • PMP certification is a must.
  • Experienced in Quality Management Systems like ISO 13485 and regulatory requirements for Class I and II medical devices.
  • Proficient in project management tools like MS project and excel
  • Project planning – resourcing, timelines, quality and budgets.

 

 

Soft Skills

Excellent Communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with proficiency in English (verbal and written). A positive attitude, innovative and creative thinker. Ability to take calculated risk and display Agile behaviors. Experience in working with global and virtual team. Experience of working in a cross-cultural environment.
