Purpose:

Boston Scientific’s Master Data Management (MDM) team has an opportunity for an experienced Informatica IDQ Developer to become a part of the winning team that defines, delivers, and supports the Enterprise’s Global Master Data Management practice. The MDM Tech Lead is responsible for the setup, configuration, development, and ongoing operation of our Informatica MDM solution. Successful candidate will support their leadership team in delivering solutions and supporting the Informatica MDM platform through engagement with external partners and internal experts. The candidate must be extremely results driven, customer focused, technologically savvy, and skilled at building internal and external relationships.

 

 

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development of mapplets, profiles and scorecards that comprise the library of data quality rules that make up the core of the MDM and Data Quality Management requirements
  • Provide expertise within the MDM environment using technologies such as Informatica Data Director, Informatica Data Quality, and Informatica Multi-Domain MDM
  • Support the complexity of data domains (e.g., Customer, Seller, and Product) on the MDM roadmap
  • Serve as a contributor to a team of IT professionals focused on MDM technology, day-to-day operational support, technical project delivery, and communication of results to leadership
  • Partner with leadership to apply continuous improvements to BSC’s data strategy
  • Develops and maintain a strong relationship with partners and software vendors
  • Deliver MDM solutions in a regulated environment
  • Create and maintain system & process documentation according to the IT methodology (design, test specifications, and other deliverables as necessary) for MDM development and administration
  • Work collaboratively, effectively, and efficiently with stakeholders to ensure alignment and prioritization of goals and resources across multiple stakeholders, project priorities, and organizational initiatives
  • Develop mappings, workflows and other data processing components needed to transform data from its raw form as acquired from upstream source systems
  • Develop the necessary components that manage the data flow surrounding the data mastering tool
  • Configure the MDM Technology to support the matching, trust and survivorship processing of the overall system
  • Develop customizations needed to extend the base capabilities for the MDM tool to support advanced requirements
  • Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.

 

Required Skills

  • Undergraduate degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field required
  • 5+ years of experience required in administering, configuring, and developing solutions in Informatica MDM
  • 2+ years of experience required in developing solutions in Informatica’s Data Quality and Data Director
  • Strong understanding of MDM, BI, ETL, and data warehousing concepts
  • Strong Linux/Unix background
  • Strong understanding of relational databases such Oracle & SQL Server
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.  
  • Ability to lead initiatives and people toward common goals.  
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, self-directed, action-oriented environment
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills including oral, written, and listening skills
  • Proven understanding of software development and operations methodologies
  • Ability to travel a small percentage of time as needed

 

Preferred Skills

  • Experienced in the Data Integration technologies used by the overall system (Informatica PowerCenter) is preferred
  • Experienced in the Data Master technologies used by the overall system (Informatica MDM) is preferred
  • Experience working in a matrix environment and delivering projects and services via a combination of internal, contract, and outsourced resources
  • Working knowledge of Agile, DevOps principles
  • Experience in life science or other regulated industry is highly beneficial
