Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst III, FP&A Hub APAC

Purpose Statement

The FP&A Analyst III, APAC provides regional financial support to the APAC HQ and local country FP&A teams (Financial Planning & Analysis) to help achieve Boston Scientific’s overall goals and objectives. This role will focus on two workstreams (i) Reporting and Analysis and (ii) Planning and Forecasting. The role involves participating in the development, preparation, analysis and publishing of financial reports and planning templates. It delivers effective financial planning, analysis and reporting including variance, comparative and trend analysis of divisional sales, gross margins and operating expenses.

 

Responsibilities

 

Reporting and analysis:

  • Develop, prepare and publish monthly closing reports and performance analyses for APAC HQ and country FP&A teams.
  • Support the FP&As in analyzing performance trends, sales and operating expenses, including ad-hoc analysis, investigation of significant variances against plan.
  • Deliver sales & financial reporting along with value-added analysis, through a defined template in Excel, Power Point, Power BI or similar tools.
  • Collaborate with FP&As to define new performance-tracking financial reports and deliver training to FP&A teams and business stakeholders to ensure effective adoption.

 

Planning and Forecasting:

  • Provides key financial support to APAC HQ and all APAC countries throughout Annual Operating Plan, Forecasts cycles and Strat Plan processes, including:
  • Preparing data input and retrieval templates
  • Uploading financial data into financial systems
  • Consolidate financial data across APAC countries, Hub or country level
  • Responding to any ad hoc requests
  • Provides on-going user support and training on financial systems, primarily EPM, Hyperion/Essbase and its associated systems

 

Other responsibilities:

  • Contribute to continuous process improvements and reporting enhancements to increase efficiency, accuracy and transparency.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to support implementation of meaningful changes and improvements within the finance organization.

 

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance / accounting / economics / business administration or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience as FP&A analyst or business analyst
  • Strong expertise in Financial skills : Budgeting and Forecasting, Variance analysis, Financial Reporting, Cost Analysis and profitability analysis.
  • Proficiency in system & tools :
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel in managing large dataset – Advanced excel formulas, advanced Pivot tables, Power Query and macros (VBA) - optional
    • ERP systems - SAP, Oracle
    • Planning tools – Hyperion, Essbase/Enterprise Planning Management (EPM)
    • BI / data tools: - Power BI / Tableau
  • Ability to interpret financial data and translate insights, attention to detail with high accuracy, ability to work with large datasets.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong communication skill to collaborate with different stakeholders, ability to influence decision-making.
  • Proactive and self-driven, time management to work with tight deadlines, team collaboration and adaptability in fast-paced environments
