Payroll Analyst III, APAC (Korean Speaking)

Purpose Statement
The Payroll Analyst III (Korean Speaking) independently manages end-to-end payroll delivery for assigned countries in APAC, sites, or employee populations, ensuring employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with statutory and company requirements. The role applies advanced payroll expertise to validate payroll results, maintain effective controls, manage external provider performance, and resolve complex payroll issues in partnership with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders. It also supports payroll projects and drives standardization, automation, and continuous improvement to strengthen payroll accuracy, efficiency, and service quality.
Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll for assigned countries, sites, or employee populations, ensuring accurate and timely payment.
- Process and validate payroll transactions, including employee changes, compensation, time and leave, deductions, benefits, and off-cycle payments.
- Perform payroll reconciliations, controls, variance analysis, and exception reviews; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with payroll, tax, social security, statutory, SOX, company policy, and data privacy requirements.
- Prepare and review statutory filings, payments, year-end activities, and payroll reports.
- Coordinate expatriate, equity compensation, and other complex payroll transactions, where applicable.
- Partner with HR, People Services, Finance, Accounting, Tax, Benefits, and GBS to ensure accurate payroll delivery and reporting.
- Manage external payroll providers, monitor service levels, validate outputs, and resolve performance issues.
- Address complex employee and stakeholder payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and related corrective actions.
- Drive payroll process improvements and support projects such as system upgrades, implementations, transitions, automation, and standardization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
- 5 - 8 years of payroll experience with strong knowledge of end-to-end payroll processing, payroll controls, statutory compliance, and payroll vendor management.
- Fluency in Korean and English is required to support Korea-based employees, stakeholders, and payroll operations.
- Experience supporting Korea payroll and a strong understanding of Korean payroll regulations, statutory requirements, and payroll practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in a Shared Services, Global Business Services (GBS), or multinational environment.
