Senior Process Engineering Manager

Purpose Statement:

Provides leadership and technical direction to Process Development staff through the management of functional teams and process development activities. Leads the innovation, design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes, procedures, tooling, and equipment to support new product introduction and manufacturing transfer. Has accountability for delivery, resource planning, and staff development within Process Development, ensuring robust, compliant, and cost‑effective manufacturing solutions aligned with site objectives.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical and management direction to the PD group by making sound decisions based on facts and balancing them with performance, schedule, and cost.

  • Responsible for the departmental basics including budgeting, hiring, day-to-day management, project resourcing, etc.

  • Partner with cross functional and cross site groups, including R&D and Operations, to develop, execute and manage the PD strategies and goals that are aligned with the overall business goals.

  • Manages execution of the functional deliverables associated with the TDP/PDP, Project Management, and Quality Systems.

  • Maintains a high level of communication between multiple functions and development sites. Plans and coordinates development efforts between those functions and sites, including effective receipt/transfer of technology.

  • Supports teamwork and staff development through a commitment to mentoring and technical leadership.  Demonstrates thorough knowledge of manufacturing impact on product performance as perceived by the customer.

  • Is acknowledged as a subject matter expert in a relevant technical field and influences associated site-wide technology planning.  Is a significant contributor to operational performance improvement through identification and implementation of major CIP’S, application of advanced problem.

  • Performs pioneering engineering work as part of major programs.  Defines the strategic impact of alternative technologies in the context of the Site Long-Range Plan.

  • Works with EHS to identify significant environmental impacts of Boston Scientific operations and to establish goals and targets around significant environmental impacts.

  • Ensures  all  direct reports are aware of their commitment to patient safety and product quality, are current with their training requirements and that they understand and comply with all other regulations governing their work.

  • Understands and complies with all the regulations governing the quality systems.

  • Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality.

  • Establishes and supports a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC’s Quality policy, Quality System & the appropriate regulations for the area.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.

  • Minimum 15–20 years of experience in manufacturing and/or process development environments.

  • Proven experience in people management, including direct report supervision and functional leadership.

  • Strong background in project management and budget ownership.
