Senior Supplier Engineer

Purpose Statement
-
Drives improvement and corrective action in the quality of components sourced from outside suppliers. Provides technical support in the selection of suppliers. Develops acceptance criteria for materials. Monitors supplier performance to drive supplier corrective action, manufacturing yield issues and field failures.
Job Responsibilities
-
Technical Team Member on Teams comprising representatives from Purchasing, Supplier Quality and Business Units responsible for all aspects of Supplier Management.

Communicates effectively with all Global Internal & External Stakeholders.

Manage changes across multiple site while developing global relationships.
-
Demonstrates Technical skills in risk management and remediation.
-
Responsible for supporting objectives of the Team in terms of Quality, Cost and Service.

Supports Continuous Improvement of Quality & Quality Systems, Service Capability and Total Cost of Ownership throughout the Supply Chain.

Supports investigation of Material Quality issues as they arise. Works with Quality, Procurement & Business Units to resolve issues and disposition product.

Promotes the Quality System within the Supply Base.

Works with Procurement, Supplier Quality Engineering, Receiving Inspection & Business Units to ensure that components meet established requirements.

Provides guidance to other functional areas in applying Supplier Management system requirements.

Develops new Supply sources with Procurement Team

Assesses and Approves Supplier Requested Process Changes

Identifies, Supports and Leads Material Value Improvement Projects (VIP’s) throughout the Supply Chain.

Leading purchased material qualification projects from supplier selection through commercial release, including Acceptance Activities Contract development (TMV assessment), qualification protocol/report generation, risk assessment, validation review, and supplier capability evaluation.
Job Requirements
-
Candidate required proses at least bachelor's degree in engineering.
-
At least 9 years’ work experience in Supplier Engineering role or similar field.
-
Working knowledge and application of business and technical concepts, procedures and practices required for all aspects of Supplier Management.

General knowledge of complimentary industry practices, techniques, and standards.
-
Previous experience of managing changes from a supplier management perspective desirable.
-
ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 Certification will be added advantage.

Understanding of Test Method Validations principles (Gage R&R, Kappa)
-
Understanding of Process Capability indicators (Ppk, Cpk, Pp)
-
Minitab software experience is a bonus.
What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in Materials, Chemical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, Electronic, Electrical Industrial or equivalent experience.

English Level required: B2 (70% - 79%).

Desired knowledge: Tools (Minitab, Excel, Statistics, Technical Manuals, Kaizen, Six Sigma, Lean), Process Improvement,

Ability to read component designs. AutoCAD, and Solid Works.

Project management: ability to influence cross functional global teams spanning quality, operations, R&D, and sourcing.

Desirable experience in medical device, automotive, aeronautical, semiconductor, or other regulated industry.

Ability to work independently; organized and self-driven.

Strong bias for action and results orientation is critical

Individual must be self-driven and self-motivated to learn and use that knowledge to produce results. Ability to work independently; organized and self-driven.

Good understanding of statistical methods, six sigma methodologies, and problem-solving methodologies.

Articulate communicator; adept at packaging and appropriately scaling information to the intended audience.

Desirable knowledge and experience in material testing.

At least 4-5 years of experience in similar position.
