About the role:

 

 

As a Magellan Business Analyst II supporting the Quality organization, you will contribute to the development, testing, release, and deployment of digital solutions supporting Quality Notification processes. You will work within a global software product team supporting SAP S/4HANA Quality Notifications and the continued rollout of the SAP BTP Quality Notification (BTPQN) solution.

In this role, you will partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Functional Analysts, Scrum team members, Validation, and site Quality teams to translate business needs into system requirements, support software development and testing, and prepare solutions for successful deployment.

You will also help improve how the team delivers solutions by supporting process standardization, deployment and release improvements, process mapping, and performance reporting. As your knowledge and experience develop, you will have opportunities to take increasing ownership of assigned initiatives and deployment activities.

 

 

 

Work model and travel:

 

This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to work from the local Costa Rica office at least three days per week.
This position is for our Site in Coyol, Alajuela.

This position may require approximately 10% travel to support project, deployment, and stakeholder activities.

 

 

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

 

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements supporting SAP S/4HANA Quality Notification processes and related digital solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into clear Jira stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation.
  • Participate in story refinement with Product Owners, Functional Analysts, Scrum team members, and business stakeholders.
  • Develop test cases and coordinate test execution, defect resolution, and documentation using qTest and established testing processes.
  • Track Jira stories, defects, risks, and dependencies throughout the software development and deployment lifecycle.
  • Develop an end-to-end understanding of Quality Notification processes and supporting Quality Management System processes.
  • Support Major/Minor software releases and site-level deployments, including testing, readiness activities, issue tracking, and status reporting.
  • Partner with experienced team members to execute deployment plans, identify risks, and coordinate cross-functional activities.
  • Build working knowledge of the BTP Quality Notification solution through hands-on experience and knowledge transfer with the Principal Business Analyst and other subject matter experts.
  • Support the global BTPQN rollout through requirements, testing, deployment readiness, and implementation activities.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve and standardize deployment and release management processes.
  • Support development of process maps, documentation, metrics, and KPIs to improve delivery visibility and effectiveness.
  • Participate in project planning and change management activities supporting new capabilities, releases, and deployments.
  • Communicate effectively across functional and technical teams and prepare status updates and recommendations for project and product leadership.
  • Independently manage assigned activities following appropriate onboarding and direction, escalating risks, and seeking guidance when needed.
  • As experience develops, take increasing ownership of smaller initiatives and defined deployment workstreams.

 

 

 

 

Required qualifications:

 

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in business process analysis, systems support, software delivery, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry or environment.
  • Experience participating in project planning and execution activities.
  • Experience supporting organizational or technology change management activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn complex business processes and technology solutions.

 

 

 

 

Preferred qualifications:

 

 

  • Experience within the medical device industry.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and/or SAP ECC.
  • Experience supporting Quality Management Systems (QMS) or Quality-related business processes.
  • Exposure to SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) or similar enterprise technology platforms.
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Experience with Jira or similar requirements and software delivery management tools.
  • Experience with software testing, test management, and/or Test.
  • Experience supporting software releases, system implementations, or site deployments.
  • Experience with business process mapping, process improvement, metrics, or KPI development.
