Engineer I, System Evaluation

Coordinates activities of cross functional teams in the development of BSC systems.  Independently or as member of a team; develops system specifications, system designs, system tests and design validation activities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Participates with project teams to develop clear system specifications, feasibility plans and reports and system integration tests. May include simulations, mathematical analysis, and/or system interaction analysis.
  • Documents software development and/or test development by writing documents, reports, memos, change requests. Methods used are determined by approved procedures and standards
  • Tracks software development effort by creating and maintaining records in the approved tracking management tool.
  • Analyzes, evaluates, verifies requirements, software and systems by using software engineering practices.
  • Investigates, researches, selects software designs, operating systems and/or practices.
  • Continuously improves process and work methodologies by interfacing with peers/cross-functional groups and analyzing activities to improve workflow and work processes.

 

Qualification & Required Skills

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years software quality assurance/testing with mobile or webapps
  • Hands-on experience with SQL to manipulate data and verify test results
  • Quality Assurance/Test training desired
  • Excellent analytical skills coupled with a high level of initiative and responsibility
  • Eagerness to take on responsibility and natural curiosity to creatively search for software defects
  • Ability to effectively execute in a complex, high-pressure environment
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
  • Experience with medical device software testing and automation with C# Appium is preferred
  • Experience with traceability and regulatory testing preferred
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Dynamics, and Azure Cosmos DB (or other DocumentDB) preferred
