Engineer III is responsible for providing Sustaining Engineering support for sustaining projects and design changes (CE and SUDs). This role involves independently conducting development activities as part of research and development projects, with minimal technical supervision or direction.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead design change projects to ensure the proposed changes are systematically and thoroughly analyzed before beginning the change process. Whenever product changes are proposed, justification is written, or data is collected to verify that the design intent is still met.
  • Successfully completes engineering work in one or more of the following: technology development, product design and development, test of materials, preparation of specifications, process study, research investigation (animal and clinical studies), and report preparation.
  • Assesses the feasibility and soundness of alternative engineering processes, products, or equipment.
  • Coordinates, manages, and documents project goals and progress and recommends appropriate revisions.
  • Demonstrates design control knowledge through delivery of high-quality deliverables
  • Applies Knowledge of product intended use and use environment. Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, drawings creation and reading. Basic Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stackup.
  • Maintains detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.
  • Prepares standard reports/documentation to communicate results to technical community.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of manufacturing impact on product performance as perceived by the customer.
  • Provide support to technicians and less experienced engineers.

 

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering (M. Tech. OR Equivalent) or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Accredited programs preferred with emphasis on advanced mechanical systems, design, methodologies, and analytical problem solving.
  • 9-11 years of overall industry experience.
