Operations Manager II - Program Management, Data Analytics  



 

About the Role:

 

The Operations Manager II is responsible for development of insights and analytics focused on the Global distribution and logistics services department. 


This role will champion quality improvement, service capabilities, and cost reduction through leverage of continuous improvement tools for all direct and indirect distribution processes.  You will supervise, lead, and provide technical direction to a group of analysts, while collaborating with managers, supervisors, and other functional stakeholders to prioritize programs and resources in alignment with organization objectives.

 


Your Responsibilities Include:


 

 

  • Demonstrates experience in distribution flow, warehousing equipment and software, data-science/performance analytics, continue improvement tools, and managing complex project portfolios.
  • Role requires innovative thinking, consulting skills, project management, and skillful manipulation and analysis of large amounts of data. 
  • Data Science and Analytics:
  • Leads the development and communication of the technical/data analytics strategy and operating plan.
  • Collaborates with other data analytics teams within the organization to improve end-to-end visibility.
  • Supports the global logistics organization through analyzing data, trends, and insights to create and/or generate business reports and predictive analytics that increase supply chain understanding and improve business performance.  
  • Collaborates with internal resources to identify and action specific data needs for the business; Develop and report supporting metrics and KPI’s; Support of sustaining and ad-hoc project needs
  • Develops and maintains analytical tools used by the business. Identifies and recommends opportunities to optimize system and reporting. May maintain relationships with data and software vendors.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize storage and processing capacity (picking locations, storage rack and material handling equipment).
  • Supply chain/flow analysis - Conduct inventory and planning analysis in support of some of the following “triggers”
  • Manage warehouse/inventory profiling and re-slotting to ensure overall storage and process health




What We’re Looking For:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required in IT, supply chain, engineering, or quantitative discipline
  • 7+ years of related work experience in operations, consulting, program management and/or data analytics.
  • People Leadership Experience: Proven success (3-5 years) leading, managing, and developing a staff.
  • Experienced in performance management.
  • Demonstrates experience/knowledge in supply chain operations – inventory management, order processing flow, distribution/warehousing equipment and software, and continuous improvement tools 
  • Successful implementation and/or leading of continuous improvement programs
  • Plans, organizes, and schedules effectively to ensure all milestones are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Strong communication skills, collaborative nature and strong execution and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time domestically and internationally
  • Must be able to juggle multiple priorities and manage requests coming from a variety of sources/users
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to solve problems and make sound decisions



Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Medical Device industry knowledge
  • Masters degree preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, charting, macros, calculations)
  • Strong data analysis/visualization capabilities, including at least 2 years of experience in Tableau, QlikView, Alteryx, or similar tools to design and implement analytics
  • At least 2 years of experience in data sourcing, transformation and clean up
  • Coding experience a plus, e.g., SQL, HTML, CSS, Python, JavaScript
  • Understanding of Software Development – Agile methodology
