Hours: M-F 8.30am – 5:00pm  

 

About the role: 

Over see work flow of assigned group of Quality Control employees., performing inspection activities on finished good medical devices; including performing actual inspection functions to written procedures and specifications, and review of sterilization process documentation and other data. This is to include the paperwork (DHR's/inspection reports/data forms and release forms). Communication with multifunctional groups (both within Quincy, at other BSC facilities and outside suppliers) on load status and quality-related activities. Subject matter expert in the incoming inspection process. Responsible for assisting other inspectors with any inspection/process-related issues or questions.  

 

Work Mode 
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a onsite work model, requiring employees to be in our local office five days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform inspection activities on products, in such categories as sterility inspection, incoming inspection, in-process inspection. 

  • Performs other duties, such as assistance with general questions/problems, identification/implementation of process improvements, leading of projects, providing input to performance reviews, enforcement/support of company policies/procedures and other duties of staff as assigned. 

  • Complete data entry/results recording of inspection activities, including non-conforming material reports, when required. 

  • Perform inspection/sort of material with self-evident shipping damage 

  • Communication with multifunctional groups within Quincy and other BSC sites. 

  • Executes SAP, SAP QM or WM transactions related to inspection/return activities 

  • SAP, WM, transactions related to Incoming Inspection activities 

  • Interface with site representatives for non-conforming issues 

  • Executes the disposition of material through approved nonconforming reports, completion of scrap forms, or coordinating the return of material to the manufacturing plants. 

  • Subject Matter Expert for the Incoming Inspection process 

  • Responsible for training new employees in the Incoming Inspection area 

  • Assists with ensuring department metrics are accurate and up to date   

  • Performs other duties as required. 

 
Required qualifications:

  • 1-2 Years with High School Diploma and/or
    Equivalent experience, training , or apprenticeships
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Quality Control/ Quality Assurance Function or equivalent, preferably in a regulated environment 

  • SAP and SAP QM Experience  

  • WM Manhattan Experience 

  • Ability to read/write English to complete paperwork and interpret procedures.  

  • Good verbal and written communication skills 

  • Ability and Flexibility to work overtime or cross-train to other functions when needed 

  • Solid understanding of quality concepts and procedures to perform inspection activities 

  • Must be detail-oriented and accurate  

  • Must have lead and training experience 

  • Must be experienced with QCP/ SAP IP inspections. 

  • Must have data analysis and reporting skills. 

  • Must have ability to create records and DHRs.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
