About the role:
The Incoming Inspector is responsible for performing Incoming Inspection activities at the Quincy Distribution Center on Finished Good Medical Devices manufactured by Boston Scientific and external suppliers. Inspectors follow SOPs, work instructions, and product-specific inspection plans to execute inspections. Inspectors are responsible for proactively escalating any quality issues or concerns identified during the inspection process. Inspectors ensure all inspection results are recorded appropriately, adhering to Boston Scientific’s Good Documentation Practices SOP. Inspections consist of paperwork, electronic, and physical product verifications. Physical sorting of the shipper boxes is required to complete inspection activities. Inspectors use SAP and WMS Manhattan to make systematic inventory movements and adjustments. Must be able to communicate clearly, and understand all applicable BSC SOPs, work instructions, and product-specific inspection plans. At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. Your responsibilities will include:
- Perform inspection activities on products, in such categories as sterility inspection, additional testing verifications, supplier documentation, product inspections, and temp dot inspections.
- Perform physical sorts of material with self-evident transportation damage.
- Complete data entry and results recording of inspection activities manually or electronically.
- Escalate issues and documents non-conforming events identified during inspection.
- Execute SAP and WMS Manhattan transactions related to Incoming Inspection activities.
- Communicate cross-functionally with receiving, final release, and non-conformance teams.
- Execute the disposition of material through approved nonconforming reports or Quality Notification dispositions.
- Performs other duties as required
Required qualifications:
- 1-2 Years with High School Diploma and/or
- Equivalent experience, training , or apprenticeships
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Must be detail-oriented and accurate
- Must be able to lift boxes (up to 40lbs)
Preferred qualifications:
- 1 Year with Associate in Arts degree/diploma, or an equivalent combination of education/work experience
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a Quality Control/Quality Assurance function or equivalent, preferably in a regulated environment
- Solid understanding of quality concepts
- Flexibility to work overtime or cross-train to other functions
- SAP Experience
- WM Manhattan Experience
