About the role:
As a member of the Global Logistics COE team, the Project Manager oversees key projects and programs related to the expansion of distribution capacity and ensures capacity is sufficient and available to support the growth of Boston Scientific’s distribution network worldwide. This role is also responsible for refining the global logistics strategy to support continuous improvement, while driving profitability and sustainable growth within the organization.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and implementing the transfer or setup of new distribution centers (BSC owned or with 3PL partners), while considering overall objectives and constraints; key activities can include data validation, sourcing with external vendors, process mapping, sizing of areas, logistics automation and equipment, costing etc.
- Partnering with business leaders to define the long-term distribution capacity strategy; participate in strategy discussions to determine how distribution capacity is being defined, monitored and forecasted
- Providing an overview of all distribution capacity related projects as key input into the internal PMO process to ensure priorities and resources are being managed
- Establishing and implementing project plans, timelines, milestones, roles and resources, while ensuring corporate policies and global regulations are followed
- Mentoring project team members to build expertise and support future projects or programs
- Identifying and managing cross-departmental teams to drive tasks to completion
- Standardizing processes to improve distribution capabilities across the global network
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management
- Minimum 5yrs of logistics and distribution-based project management experience
- Knowledge of Global Supply Chain processes (e.g. plan, source, make, deliver)
Preferred qualifications:
- Project Management Certification
- Experience working in medical device or similar GMP industry
- Experience with the set up or transfer of new distribution centers including related processes and technology
- Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) or SCRUM
- Experience with MS projects, Smartsheet or other project management tools
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals on all levels (written and verbally)
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; analytical and process-driven
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain relationships
- Strong leadership skills with ability to influence and drive performance cross-functionally
- Results-oriented with strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
