About the role:

As a Principal Quality Engineer, you’ll play a key leadership role in advancing our quality systems and shaping the future of our engineering practices. You’ll lead cross-functional initiatives, mentor technical talent, and drive continuous improvement efforts that directly impact product quality and patient safety. This is a dynamic, high-impact position where your voice will influence both strategic decisions and day-to-day operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provides leadership role on championing cross-functional or departmental engineering initiatives.
  • Advise management on potential improvements or enhancement to quality systems and processes in the company.
  • Leads in the implementation of assurances, process controls, and CAPA systems designed to meet or exceed internal and external requirements.
  • Provides project direction, coaching, and mentoring for engineering and technical team personnel.
  • Apply sound, systematic problem-solving methodologies in identifying, prioritizing, communicating, and resolving quality issues.
  • Proactively investigates, identifies, and implements best-in-class Quality Engineering practices.

 

Required qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field
  • 6+ years of quality engineering experience in the medical device industry or related field
  • Deep knowledge of ISO 13485 and MDSAP regulations
  • Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis tools (e.g. 5 Whys, Fishbone, Is/Is Not)
  • Strong communication, project management, and leadership skills

 

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), other ASQ certifications, or ISO 13485 Lead Auditor
  • Familiarity with electronic QMS systems (e.g. Windchill, eCAPA)
  • Able to approach complex quality challenges with innovative, compliant, and practical solutions.
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and remains effective through change and ambiguity.
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset with strong desire to expand knowledge in quality.
  • Inspires cross-functional teams, mentors peers, and leads through credibility and collaboration, not just authority.

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
