About the role:
This role will be responsible for leading and coordinating daily activities across functions which can include the following: Lead and coach warehouse associates, while spending time on the distribution floor. Meet daily operational activities while proactively identifying and resolving issues. Meet quality objectives by ensuring compliance to quality systems and partner with Quality function as necessary. Support department initiatives to meet cost and budget objectives. Support issue resolution and productivity by identifying and leading business improvement projects and performing data analysis. Support the development and communication of departmental goals in order to achieve effective core metric performance. Assist in the management of the department's mechanical equipment fleet/conveyor. Promote, monitor and ensure a safe work environment and adherence to all safety policies. Participation in strategic and business improvement activities. Facilitate cross department communications and initiatives. Oversee the processing, packaging and storage of supplies, materials and equipment. Ensure integrity of data systems (i.e. SAP, etc.).
Your responsibilities will include:
- This role will oversee workload distribution and productivity performance of the team and assist supervisor in the coordination of daily activities.
- Support department to meet metrics while maintaining compliance with all regulations and procedures.
- Provide day-to-day direction concerning work assignments, overtime requirements and priorities. Major driver for project related work and implementation phases. Will be responsible for monitoring service levels and assigning tasks such as facilitating short-range planning concerning staffing requirements, OT requirements, budget, and space requirements. Individual will escalate issues as needed.
- Meet all training assigned requirements on time.
- Apply Lean Principles to daily activity.
- Assist during on the job training and group training for new hires or existing employees on updates to procedures.
- Ensuring group goals are met or exceeded.
Required qualifications:
- 3 Years with Associate in Arts degree/diploma, or an equivalent combination of education/work experience
