About the role: 

The Quality Engineer I will utilize quality-engineering methodologies, systems, and practices to directly support the inbound and outbound distribution of Boston Scientific Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) and Neuromodulation (NMD) products within the Quincy, MA distribution center. This engineer will play a key role in ensuring the day-to-day supply chain executes successfully – supplying medical devices real time to BSC customers around the world.

 

Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. This role requires an onsite workmode from our Quincy, MA location.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Directly support the inbound (receiving/inspection/release) and outbound (putaway/storage/pick/pack/ship to customer) distribution center operations to ensure supply chain efficiency for CRM/NMD devices
  • Engage in nonconforming events detected, collaborate and communicate cross-functionally to resolve issues
  • Identify and own identified nonconformances to resolution, quarantine and disposition product as required
  • Increase supply chain efficiencies in the CRM/NMD supply chain business areas
  • Support continuous improvement activities, NCEPs, CAPA and lean initiatives from a quality perspective for both internal and external customers.
  • Proactively investigates, identifies and implements best in class Quality Engineering practices to consistently provide support for implementation of engineering changes, existing processes and new processes from a quality perspective.
  • Knowledge of Problem solving techniques including root cause analysis, and cause and effect analysis
  • Ability to demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering related field
  • 6+ months of related engineering experience in medical device industry (or similar field)
  • Proven understanding of engineering and problem-solving principles
  • Proficient computer skills required including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to lift 15lb to 20lb boxes or materials

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Supply Chain distribution, SAP or equivalent ERP system
  • Experience with product inspection and acceptance activities
  • Experience in physical and systematic product hold activities
  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal
  • Attention to detail

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
