Role overview

This role has accountability for the overall franchise strategy and execution in Interventional Oncology and is reporting into the PI EMEA Director of Marketing and Commercial Excellence. Portfolio responsibility includes IO core business portfolios, ablation technologies, embolization devices and radioembolization technologies. This position is also responsible for further developing internal divisional sales training and has 6 direct reports.
Specific responsibilities are including planning, driving and executing marketing initiatives of the Oncology franchise. This covers involvement in setting strategic direction for the business, meeting revenue and profitability targets, building a high performing marketing team and working internationally to integrate marketing and market development strategies with Country Sales/Marketing, Global Marketing. Medical Affairs and HEMA.

 

Location: This role can be based in any Boston Scientific main Hub (France-Voisins le Bretonneux, United Kingdom-Hemel Hempstead, Italy-Milan, Germany-Ratingen, Spain-Madrid, Poland-Warsaw)


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 6 marketing professionals
  • Develop annual and long-term objectives for direct reports.  Measure performance of direct reports against success criteria and provide feedback.  Attract/hire and develop top marketing talent.
  • Set strategic direction for franchise responsibility and ensure alignment of tactical planning, execution and control through the help of direct reports.
  • Conduct bi annual marketing plan reviews with Clusters and GEM.
  • Define and manage activities to assess high growth technology and core market opportunities.
  • Influence local Country management teams on growth and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with global upstream team as necessary to complete market research, market assessments, analysis. Support the EMEA team to provide input to global product launch process regarding market opportunity, product positioning and launch plans
  • Coordinate and partner with all necessary internal functions to complete projects: sales, clinical, regulatory, legal, HEMA, human resources, product marketing, etc.
  • Identify and develop strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders in each key market
  • Coordinate with local marketing and division to contribute to PDP/PIB process as required.
  • Manage allocated budgets.


  Knowledge & Experience:

  • Completed BA/BS undergraduate degree, with a marketing degree as a preference
  • MBA diploma will be valued
  • Experience of managing and leading a team (performance management, training, coaching)
  • Experience in marketing and market development
  • Demonstrates high level professional presentation and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrates ability to work with and manage cross-cultural and virtual teams
  • Prior sales experience will be valued
  • Fluent in English. Other languages skills advantageous
