Purpose

 

The position has become available as our current Finance Manager is moving on internally in Boston Scientific. Furthermore there is a need for a strong finance partner in the important DACH region

The Country Finance Manager DACH will maintain and further develop the robust control environment while delivering strategic- and business decision support to the entire business. The role is key part of the leadership team in DACH and will also be driving improvement projects in the EMEA finance organization.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Implements and drives process improvements in DACH
  • Participates in cross-functional teams addressing alternate business practices
  • Identifies key financial issues; reports, interprets and translates them into terms meaningful to business partners and functional managers
  • Anticipates financial needs of business partners; proactively develops financial solutions to those requirements
  • Recruits-, retains- and develops finance staff
  • Oversees financial and accounting processes to ensure compliance with Corporate and Local policies, statutory requirements and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles/Standards and ethical standards with unyielding integrity
  • Oversees month end close process to ensure timely close and financial reports preparation
  • Analyzes, interprets and reports operating results to local management and makes specific recommendations to achieve cost effectiveness and profit improvements.
  • Oversees Maintaining of all substantiation records for tax; Assesses and makes provision for tax payable; Oversees Liaising with Corporate Tax on transfer pricing issues and oversees Liaising with Ernst & Young (external) to ensure audit compliance
  • Develops and implements accounting policies, procedures and internal controls in support with business processes and decisions; Ensures all activities comply with relevant Acts, legal demands, ethical standards and the internal Quality Management System
  • Oversees operational cash management and cash flow forecasting; bank administration, funds transfers and foreign exchange dealings under the direction of Corporate Treasury
  • Develops and maintains credit and collection policies, procedures and processes for effective AR management
  • Participates in development and carrying-out of inventory control procedures, including physical stock-take, audit and control of both warehouse and hospital consignment inventory; Accounts for and maintains proper inventory reserves for Excess, Expired and Obsolete Inventory
  • Maintains asset register to well keep track on and safeguard company assets.
  • Drives compliance in all finance related matters (GIA, SOX, Statutory, monthly Closing); Participates in implementing Quality requirements in all aspects of the Finance Process
  • Teaming up with the Country Leadership Teams of DACH to drive the organization in the right direction to achieve sustainable growth and develop-/make the most of our Product Portfolio and the Go-To-Market models we deploy as a company

 

Your Credentials

  • Degree qualified in a Finance discipline
  • At least 10+ years of professional experience in finance within a dynamic, international commercial organisation
  • Experience of working in a US organization and/or matrix structured business is highly desirable
  • Proven track record for driving, supporting and building strong relationships with commercial functions- and teams.
  • Documented experience in leading and driving of project work at an international level
  • Fluency in German and English
