Boston Scientific is seeking a Senior Contracts Specialist to join its Legal team across Europe, Middle East & Africa ( EMEA) region. This role will offer a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in the legal field with a focus on contracting activities, particularly in the areas of sourcing, services and tenders.

 

Your responsibilities include:

 

Assist attorneys with the following: 

 

  • Support direct and indirect sourcing group contracts, including MSAs, consulting agreements, service agreements and facilities contracts, for EMEA and work closely with US team on global approach to consistency in agreements and processes
  • Answer questions from the Quotes & Tenders department in the preparation of tender/agreement documentation
  • Optimize pre- and post-tender contractual and compliance activity and develop tools to ensure contractual consistency and compliance with applicable laws
  • Develop and update standardized commercial T&Cs that support specific customer programs developed by the organization
  • Help with localizing the standard T&Cs or agreements for the countries in scope to align with local regulations and requirements in local language
  • Prepare or participate in preparation of standard and/or day-to day customer proposals, agreements and related documents including Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and cross-divisional customer contracts
  • Analyze internal and/or customer requests for deviations from standard templates such as consignment, capital equipment or sales terms; Act as a liaison for the commercial contracts preparation/revision process, connecting all necessary departments and functions in order to complete missing information, service requests, check requests, confirm any details etc.
  • Analyze new commercial contracts, create summaries and provide critical data for input and approval from Legal Counsel
  • Research legislation in local language and summarize for the Legal Counsel

 

What we are looking for:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • 5+ years contract administration experience or law school graduate
  • Working knowledge and understanding of standard contracting terms/types
  • Ability to interpret contract terms and clearly communicate same to internal/external customers
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a growing, changing, and fast-paced environment
  • Must work well not only independently, but also in both group and shared settings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat
  • Fluent in Dutch, German and English

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Previous negotiation experience
  • Procurement/Sourcing experience a plus
  • Tender agreement experience a plus
