Purpose Statement 

Plans, directs and leads the execution of all Country business strategies and achievement of key performance indicators.  Responsible for driving International and Regional initiatives into the country business and monitoring and measuring performance against objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities 

•    Market Development/Revenue Growth: Develops an annual country business plan and specific market-focused strategies to grow the business profitably; Guides the development of market strategies aimed at building brand awareness and customer loyalty; Develops and nurtures customer relationships with key opinion leaders and government officials that influence Boston Scientific's image and business activity; Engages in developing and leading major strategic sales initiatives and participates selectively in developing, negotiating and managing major accounts; May play an active role in establishing distributor agreements and managing those relationships.
•    Functional Excellence: Leads the sales process by ensuring sales managers demonstrate the disciplines of HPSM in the daily activities; Ensures the appropriate (right people and right number) marketing resources dedicated to each division based on current revenues and profit, and future potential, and leads the implementation and follow up of activities embedded in High Performance Marketing Management; Directs and guides the plans, activities and performance of staff members across all in-country functions and disciplines, including sales, marketing, finance, operations, HR and regulatory; Supports the Finance function in the development and implementation of sound financial practices (per HPCC) and ensures resources are targeted to meeting both local and Finance strategic priorities; Directs and guides the planning and coordination of the different operational activities (following HPOM) to ensure a cost effective flow and storage of products and high customer service levels; Participates in all quarterly Management Review of Quality Meetings to manage risks/issues associated with regulatory compliance, quality systems and product registrations, consistent with HPRAQAM.
•    Organization Vitality: Works actively to create a values-based organization culture that leads to differentiation and advantage in the marketplace; Builds a dynamic local business culture and esprit de corps within BSC's values and vision; Actively manages the critical human resource processes and activities that create an "employer of choice" distinction, including recruiting, compensation, employee development and performance management; Involves self personally in selecting, developing, motivating and retaining a team of highly qualified professionals.
•    Business Integrity: Ensures timely and accurate reporting on key performance metrics; Ensures that process controls are in place to protect company assets; Builds critical alliances/relationships within the Region/BSC, as well as, outside the organization in support of meeting business objectives; Delivers outstanding business results without compromising our Code of Conduct, and the principles stated in our Corporate Integrity Program; Promotes an environment of full compliance to the regulatory requirements of BSC and the local Health Authorities.
•    Quality: Guides the local Leadership Team to maintain full compliance with the BSC Quality System (Corporate Quality Manual and Procedures) and the local quality requirements under the initiative of International Quality Director; Participates in driving quality awareness in every employee, while guiding the local organization towards improved performance and customer-oriented initiatives; Provides input to the Quality Committee on local issues, with the purpose of either finding a solution from other countries' experiences or providing advice on potential barriers for other countries and local regulations; Participate as appropriate in Management Review of Quality Meetings to manage risks/issues associated with regulatory compliance, quality systems and product registrations; Champions and ensure implementation of Regulatory, Quality, Code of Conduct and Local/Regional initiative for assigned organization.
