About the Role
The Logistics Manager will lead transportation, distribution, and field consignment inventory operations within the medical devices industry. This role requires a Supply Chain leader with strong ownership, operational discipline, clear communication, and the ability to make fact-based decisions in a complex and regulated environment.
The ideal candidate will combine logistics expertise, SAP knowledge, stakeholder management, and a pragmatic continuous improvement mindset to improve service, cost, compliance, inventory accuracy, and customer experience, while living Boston Scientific’s values and mission of improving patient lives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead logistics operations, including transportation, distribution, field inventory, and consignment management at hospitals.
Manage carrier performance, transportation costs, service levels, delivery performance, and operational escalations.
Ensure strong governance over field consignment inventory, including counting, accuracy, availability, traceability, replenishment, and billing controls.
Use SAP, KPIs, and data-driven tools to monitor performance, identify root causes, and support decision-making.
Drive consistent execution of logistics routines, process discipline, service commitments, and compliance requirements.
Partner with Customers, Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, Regulatory, and external logistics providers to align priorities and solve operational issues.
Communicate clearly and assertively, translating complex situations into objective messages, decisions, and action plans.
Lead continuous improvement and innovation initiatives focused on efficiency, visibility, automation, simplification, inventory accuracy, billing assurance and service improvement.
Develop and engage the team, fostering accountability, collaboration, inclusion, customer focus, and high performance.
Ensure compliance with Boston Scientific policies, quality standards, healthcare requirements, and applicable medical device regulations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
MBA or postgraduate degree required.
Solid experience in logistics, transportation, distribution, and field consignment inventory management, preferably in medical devices, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or regulated industries.
Strong knowledge of transportation operations, carrier management, logistics KPIs, inventory controls, traceability, and consignment models.
Advanced SAP MM knowledge related to logistics, inventory, order management, and distribution processes.
C1 English required.
Proven ability to lead with ownership, urgency, accountability, and end-to-end business perspective.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence in a matrix environment.
Analytical mindset, with experience using data, KPIs, and root cause analysis to make decisions and improve performance.
Experience leading continuous improvement, innovation, automation, digitalization, or process simplification initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the medical devices industry.
Knowledge of hospital, clinic, distributor, and field sales consignment models.
Experience with regulated logistics environments, quality systems, audits, and compliance requirements.
Lean, Six Sigma, project management, or supply chain certifications are a plus.
