Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Full Stack Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Principal Full Stack Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of our cutting-edge software solutions. You will provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a team of talented engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and performant software applications. This is a position that requires a deep understanding of full stack development, architectural principles, and the ability to drive innovation.
Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership: Serve as a technical leader within the organization, providing expertise and guidance on full stack development methodologies, best practices, and emerging technologies.

Architectural Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable, robust, and secure full stack solutions that meet business requirements and align with the company's overall architectural vision.

Full Stack Development: Lead the development of software applications using front-end and back-end technologies, ensuring high code quality, performance, and maintainability.

Code Reviews and Quality Assurance: Conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and establish coding standards and best practices to maintain high-quality codebase. Oversee the implementation of quality assurance processes and tools to ensure reliable and bug-free software releases.

Mentorship and Collaboration: Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior and mid-level engineers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring the transfer of knowledge within the team. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and QA engineers, to drive successful project outcomes.

Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in full stack development. Evaluate and recommend new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to improve development efficiency, performance, and user experience.

Performance Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks, conduct profiling and optimization of applications, and improve scalability and responsiveness of software solutions.

Documentation and Communication: Create and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture, design specifications, and deployment procedures. Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Extensive experience (8+ years) in full stack software development, with a strong focus on web-based applications.

Proficiency in multiple front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, React, Angular, or Vue.js.

Expertise in multiple back-end technologies such as Node.js, Python, Ruby, Java, or C#.

Strong understanding of modern software development methodologies, including Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, and DevOps.

Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable and secure RESTful APIs.

Deep knowledge of database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL, along with experience in query optimization and database design.

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and propose effective solutions.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.
*** This is a Hybrid role, located in the San Jose, CA area and will require 3 days a week in the office***
The anticipated annualized base pay range this full-time position working at this location will be from $132,100 to $251,100 plus variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements) and the value of core and optional employee benefits being offered at Boston Scientific (BSC), which can be reviewed at www.bscbenefitsconnect.com. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. BSC considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, and other relevant business or organizational needs. Actual compensation may be otherwise adjusted if the position is filled outside of the intended geographic location.
