Job Title: Senior Accounting Manager
Location: Shanghai
About the role:
Participates in preparation for new accounting books’ setup & maintenance. Provide complete, accurate and timely information and processes to support Internal and External financial requirements. Perform a variety of complex duties in general accounting such as analyzing accounts, preparing reports, and performing the monthly financial close and consolidation. Continually identifies ways to improve and streamline the Company’s financial processes.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the setup of accounts and records, and complete full reconciliation and maintenance of detailed P&Ls and balance sheets.
- Compiles and analyzes financial information through preparation of reports, general ledger entries and journal entries.
- Assures financial accuracy by preparing business unit and consolidated income statements and balance sheets and other accounting statements and reports.
- Performs necessary steps to assist in the completion of the Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Financial Close to the highest standards ensuring accuracy and appropriate supporting detail is in place.
- Designs, modifies, installs and maintains general accounting systems to provide records of assets, liabilities and financial transactions.
- Establishes and communicates accounting policies by maintaining a thorough understanding of GAAP and new accounting guidance as appropriate.
- Takes an active interest in seeking opportunities for continuous improvement, standardizing processes across multiple legal entities.
- Works to deliver upon key performance metrics and service levels agreed with business partners.
- Provide accurate and timely information to internal and external customers.
- Works closely with outsourced providers in order to deliver the range of accounting services required.
- Covering tax related matters is preferred but not required
- To perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Dealing with other ad-hoc matters as they arise.
Qualifications:
Knowledge
- At least 8 years’ experience in the medical device industry.
- A seasoned, experienced professional with a complete understanding and solid knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts in the accounting field.
- Familiar with financial reporting and judgmental accounting treatments, and other key accounting policies (revenue, inventory, FA, etc.).
- Tax knowledge/experience is a plus, though not mandatory.
- Requires specialized and comprehensive technical and functional knowledge in own job field and has full understanding of cross function collaboration.
- Leverages this knowledge to recommend new and improve work processes, typically at an area level impacting various teams.

- Has a broad knowledge of a variety of alternatives and their impact on the business unit, and solves complex and diverse problems from a new perspective.

- Regularly leads discussions and makes presentations in cross-functional meetings, effectively presenting information to explain recommendations and implications.

- Establishes and cultivates a wide range of business relationships to facilitate completion of assignments.
- Facilitates projects with manageable risks and resource requirements, represents a specialized field in project teams, and influences middle management on business solutions.
- Applies knowledge of business and industry best practices and how own area integrates with others to achieve objectives to drive results.
