Job Title: Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing

Location: Shanghai

 

About the role:

The primary responsibility of this position is to identify, develop and manage suitable material & component suppliers in China (& Asia Region) for the Metals Categories. Works collaboratively with functional leads in Supplier Engineering and Supplier Quality to develop and implement sourcing strategies for the region. Ensures appropriate controls, oversight, and risk management are in place for supplier management.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with the Metals Category Teams and extended stakeholders, develop and implement sourcing strategies  for key sourcing categories in the region that result in a sustainable competitive advantage.
  • Continuously gather Market intelligence on current and potential future suppliers.
  • Identify pool of potential suppliers, assess their suitability; keeping track of suppliers disposed and selected for further development.
  • Ultimate goal is to down select suppliers that meet BSC’s Quality, Service and Cost criteria.
  • Negotiate terms & conditions with selected suppliers and execute Master Supply Agreements.
  • Monitor performance and implement CI strategies for all areas of quality, service and cost.
  • Drive year-over-year cost and time savings through effective partner management,identify risks and  develop and implements risk mitigation strategies.
  • Leverages regional trade shows, public enterprise bodies, search engines etc. to identify suitable sources.
  • Issue, CDA’s/NDA’s and RFQ’s and summarise and report on the outcome.
  • Responsible for driving cost reductions to meet business targets .
  • Support the various functions involved in the onboarding of new suppliers.
  • Provide strategic influence while building relationships with suppliers and respective internal leads to increase

 organizational integration and efficiency.

  • Develop and implement key performance metrics.
  • Establish early, new supplier involvement to achieve development performance goals, support project timelines, and manage product cost.
  • Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC’s Quality Policy, Quality System and the appropriate regulations for the area they support. Ensure all employees are trained to do their work and their training is documented.
  • Conduct  frequent benchmarking projects and analysis to determine best in class opportunities.
  • Report accomplishments and communicate initiatives to  stakeholders.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor level degree in relevant field
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal) and native in Mandarin
  • Minimum 5 years of Procurement (particularly Sourcing) experience in Medical Device Manufacturing
  • Proven track record of supplier identification and supplier development in ISO13485 Environments
