Purpose Statement 

 

L&D exists to improve organizational and leadership effectiveness, and to build workforce capabilities to substantially improve business performance and the quality of patient care.  This is accomplished by effectively developing relevant and timely leadership and organizational interventions, and by leading and managing the end-to-end life cycle of a learning process so as to deliver the right training, to the right people, at the right time, in the right way, personalized and seamlessly. 

  

Key responsibilities:  

  • Designs and develops learning solutions. Collaborates with internal subject matter experts and/or cross-functional teams for content development.  May also work to identify external programs, resources and vendors that specifically meet learning & development needs.  Works with vendors to provide quality cost effective solutions.  May lead and/or support negotiations of resources, schedules, contracts and fees for both internal and externally developed programs. 

  • Participates in or leads the strategic design and/or implementation of learning solutions that may cross region, business, and/or functional boundaries. 

  • Consults with managers & leaders in the business & functions to understand business problems and opportunities to identify opportunities to enhance human performance through training or other solutions.  Anticipates future training needs based on business requirements and changes. 

  • Identifies and qualifies instructors, both internal and external.  Continually evaluates instructor effectiveness. 

  • Leads, manages, facilitates or supports L&D processes and efforts required to meet Quality System and compliance requirements.   

  • Organizes and implements the delivery of learning solutions including any re-training actions necessary.  Leads, manages, and/or supports the initial roll-out of new programs.  Leads, manages, and/or supports the sustained forecasting and delivery of programs to meet business needs. 

  • Documents training and manages training records.  May lead, manage or support the development and use of reports to in support of audits, Management Review, and manager accountability. 

  • Measures the effectiveness of learning programs.  Designs, implements, or supports the development and use learning assessment methodologies and tools.  Leads, manages, and/or supports learning effectiveness feedback into the L&D life cycle management processes. 

  • Responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle management of a learning solution, project, program or set of programs 

 

Roles and responsibilities: 

  • At least 8 years of experiences in similar capacity with a bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline 

  • Able to work well under minimal supervision, independent and able to determine and develops approach to solutions.  

  • Works on issues of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.  

  • A complete understanding of functional specialty and industry practices, techniques, and standards is highly desired.  

  • Able to follow through processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.  

  • Acts as an advisor to the business with the ability to manage all level of stakeholders within the organization. 

  • Manages projects of small to moderate scope including schedules, scope, costs and resources. 

  • Creates immediate to mid-range plans to carry out L&D objectives established by top management.  

  • Able to make day-to-day decisions within established guidelines regarding work processes or schedules in order to achieve the program objectives established by senior management.  

  • Ensures that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.   

  • Promotes the attainment of group goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable staff.  

  • Provides leadership to assigned units by communicating and providing guidance towards achieving group objectives. 

  • Frequent interaction with functional peer groups and various management levels to understand their learning need and bridge the gap in delivering L&D programs to upskill the current workforce.
