Manager/Senior Manager, Strategy & Business Development APAC

Purpose
This role will play a central role in shaping Boston Scientific's growth agenda across one of the company's most dynamic regions. Reporting into the VP of Strategy & Business Development APAC, this role partners closely with Country General Managers, Business Unit Leaders, and Global Functions to drive strategic initiatives, evaluate inorganic growth opportunities, and translate corporate priorities into actionable regional plans across China, Japan, India, Southeast Asia, ANZ, and Korea.
This is a high-visibility role, suited to a candidate who combines structured strategic thinking with the ability to operate in ambiguity across diverse markets and business units (Cardiology, Peripheral Interventions, Endoscopy, Urology & Pelvic Health, and Electrophysiology).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead discrete workstreams within the APAC strategic planning cycle, including long-range planning, country sequencing, and portfolio prioritization across business units
- Source, evaluate, and execute business development opportunities: M&A targets, licensing deals, distribution partnerships, and joint ventures across APAC markets
- Partner with country and BU teams to operationalize strategic initiatives, ensuring clear governance, milestones, and KPIs
- Track competitive moves from key peers and synthesize implications for APAC strategy
- Build market, competitive, and customer analyses to inform decisions on market entry, share defense, and growth investments — including primary research, financial modeling, and scenario analysis
- Support special strategic projects sponsored by the APAC President and global leadership, often with tight timelines
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business, economics, finances, or life sciences; MBA strongly preferred
- 5–8 years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, corporate development, or a comparable role in Medtech, Pharma, or Healthcare
- Demonstrated ability to lead structured problem-solving and produce executive-ready deliverables
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (DCF, comparables, deal structuring)
- Excellent written and verbal communication; confident in presenting to senior leaders
- Willingness to travel across APAC (25–30%)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Medtech, Pharma, or Healthcare services experience, with familiarity in APAC reimbursement, regulatory, and market access dynamics
- Experience working across multiple APAC markets, particularly Japan
- Track record executing M&A or partnership transactions
- Working knowledge of Japanese language, or another regional language is a plus
