About the role:
This AI/Vision Engineer Fellow role will be critical to driving innovation within the Spencer site and the North American region. The fellow will be required to develop and integrate the latest in vision applications required to support the new technologies in manufacturing tied to our Meaningful Innovation values. Not only will you be responsible for learning the latest technologies, you will be required to coach and develop others across BSC to extend the reach of our medical technologies.
 
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assumes principal leadership role in functional area by using technical expertise and knowledge to support new technology and/or new market opportunities.
  • Determines emerging technological trends by reviewing scientific data, establishing vendor and supplier connections, and communicating with colleagues on scientific boards in order to obtain information and resources for future Boston Scientific needs.
  • Integrates the latest adjacent technologies with vision systems to drive the highest gross margins possible.
  • Accountable for site 3 year strat planning for vision system strategy.
  • Acts as spokesperson to customers and external stakeholders on Boston Scientific capabilities.
  • Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories in their area of expertise.
  • Leads or participates in technical strategy planning for Boston Scientific.
  • Coach and mentor others as appropriate.

 
Required qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree w/ 12+ years of experience with vision systems 

or

  • Master's degree w/ 10+ years of experience w/ vision systems
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

 

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Experience with Cognex Vision Pro
  • Experience integrating automated systems
  • Proven ability to influence without authority.
