Facilities Specialist I


About the role:

The Facilities Specialist I will manage and oversee "non-technical" facility operations and service contractors specifically for Janitorial Services and Café / Food Services at the BSC Spencer, IN site. These activities include, but is not limited to, managing day to day service vendors for those primary services.


This person will interact and coordinate with various Spencer Site groups regarding supporting the Spencer Site for daily ops and special requests when needed.


Your responsibilities specific to Janitorial Service and Café / Food Services include:

  • Manage Outsourced Facilities Services (OFS) and contracts- oversee administration of OFS services, efficiency of staff, develop & monitor key metrics around performance, training and record compliance, manage budget.
  • Management of all service contracts related to Janitorial Service and Café / Food Service- scheduling, scope, vender performance and reviews for: Cafe, Janitorial services.
  • Manage same to approved budget- develop strategies for cost savings to meet goals.
  • Responsible for maintaining quality records for these services.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining facility related procedures. Participate in site disaster planning and disaster recovery programing and related tech support.
  • Presentation, and forecasting for site Facility Manager.
  • Service contracts- Develop service scope, service levels, work with sourcing to bid & negotiate managed facility service contracts for Janitorial, Café services.
  • Conduct regular tours/reviews of facility and report any deficiencies for repair
  • Manage, oversee, operate be proficient in following software platforms: Service Zone, PRIMO, SharePoint, PLM, eCAPA and Vaisala.
  • Interface and co-ordinate with Site FM, EH&S, Facility Engineers and Security.
  • Responsible for applying Boston Scientific quality policy. Support all audits.


What we’re looking for in you:

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate Degree a plus, however 2 years’ combination of experience in: Facilities field, Procurement, PO generation, working in service-based environment acceptable upon review.
  • Working experience in industrial or manufacturing setting preferred to be familiar with our service / support environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Working experience in controlled environment / clean manufacturing setting.
  • Basic understanding of building envelope and structure
  • Management of small projects involving construction, renovations, move management, systems and/or event planning
