About the role:
The Quality Technician assists quality engineer in support of the appropriate engineering group, manufacturing, system/services support, and materials group. Serves as a quality representative to improve awareness, visibility, and communication on quality initiatives to support departmental, functional, site, divisional and corporate quality goals and priorities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assists Quality Engineers in the following activities: product documentation, documents & records control, process assessments, internal audits, product inspection and testing; qualitative and/or quantitative data analysis, material acceptance activities; qualitative and/or quantitative data analysis; continuous improvement projects; NCEP/CAPA; reporting.
  • Reviews and dispositions non-conforming material by utilizing quality tools and by developing knowledge of practices and procedures.
  • Trend, identify, prioritize, resolve and report quality issues using information gained from testing and other process monitoring activities, Non-Conforming Events (NCEPs), customer complaints, continuous improvement projects and other quality metrics.
  • Identify best quality practices and areas for improvement and lead continuous improvement projects across the site.
  • Perform statistical analysis and communicate results to teams.
  • Develop and qualify data sheets; assist in developing, conducting, qualifying and documenting equipment/fixtures, visual standards, and test methods.
  • Perform testing, gather data, verify and report results of product testing and process monitoring, including comparing results to acceptance criteria and control limits.
  • Identify departmental initiatives related to best quality practices and continuous improvement.
  • Perform support roles during external audits as an auditee or document retriever.
  • Perform project specific quality initiatives with guidance.
  • Must comply with requirements of ISO 14001 and BSC Environmental, Health and Safety standards and follow procedures and instructions related to these standards.


What we're looking for in you:
Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma and 7 years of relevant industry experience or an equivalent combination of education/work experience
  • Experience with failure analysis and complaint investigation
  • Experience supporting quality in a regulated industry such as medical device, laboratory or Biotech
  • Experience writing technical reports, summarizing data, reviewing reports and data for accuracy
  • Support projects interacting with other technicians and IQA inspectors
  • Experience working within an ISO 14001 workplace.
  • Ability to work in the receiving and inspection area.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with quality engineering functions within both a device and drug/device manufacturing environment, developmental role towards a Quality Engineer role
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and document management systems/quality systems
  • Proficient in MES, SAP and PLM Windchill
  • Ability to write/process Change Notifications within the Windchill system and has experience with validating/executing test methods
  • ASQ certification
  • Medical device industry experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects independently
