About the Role 
This position leads initiatives for the daily support of production lines, manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment to meet performance goals (i.e., safety, quality, cost, and delivery). In addition to production line support, this position will also be responsible for continuous improvement projects related to cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and other strategic initiatives supporting the production unit. This will be achieved through a high level of interaction with counterparts in other functions (i.e. Research and Development, Quality, Production Supervisors, Equipment Techs). You will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment applying problem solving tools to support the production line while working cross-functionally with quality and production teams to achieve performance goals and implement continuous improvement projects.  
Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Provides daily support of production, processes, materials and equipment to achieve department goals (i.e. safety, quality, delivery, and cost). 
  • Performs hands on process and equipment troubleshooting to successfully resolve problems in the manufacturing lines or improvement of processes using scientific analysis and engineering studies.  
  • Designs, procures, and fabricates equipment tooling and fixtures.  
  • Performs equipment qualification, process validation, and test method validation activities 
  • Assist in writing and performing process validations (IQ, OQ, PQ, PPQ) and validate methods for process controls and test methods.  
  • Interface directly with Product Builders, Production Supervisors, Lead Technicians, Engineers and Management daily. 
  • Trains and/or provides work direction to operators/technicians. 
  • Assesses process capabilities, prioritizes process improvement opportunities, and innovates and implements process improvements on commercial products. 
  • Executes the functional deliverables associated with the CAPA, VIP, Strategic Initiative, and Quality Systems. 
  • Ensures proper documentation is completed to meet quality systems requirements. (e.g., GOI’s, BOM’s, Routers, FMEA’s, etc.) 
  • Oversees development builds associated with the project using special work requests. 
  • Serve as a core team member or extended team member on new product projects. 
  • Participate in lean reviews, line side meetings, and Kaizen events. 
  • Must comply with requirements of ISO 1400:2004 and BSC Environmental, Health and Safety standards and follow procedures and instructions related to these standards. 
  • Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC’s Quality Policy, Quality System and the appropriate regulations for the area they support. Ensure employees are trained to do their work and their training is documented. 

What we’re looking for in you: 
Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline 
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude, communication & interpersonal skills 
  • Must be experienced in MS Word, Excel and Project. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Previous experience in the areas of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design of Experiments (DOE), and product/process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) 
  • Experience with CAD software (Solid Works & AutoCAD)
