About The Role:
Manage the Facilities, Equipment Maintenance, and Environmental, Health and Safety functions.  Set objectives and determining direction for Facilities and E, H & S functions including maintenance, security, office services, food services, custodial services, and all related facilities contractors.  Manager is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers in accordance to our quality policies.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for developing strategic direction and goals of the Facilities department to ensure alignment with corporate and site objectives.
  • Develop and maintain internal systems to ensure compliance with quality standards (FDA, cGMP, QSR, ISO) and be the subject matter expert (SME) for internal and external audits.  Implement corrective actions as assigned.  Specific areas of compliance responsibility include equipment maintenance, environmental controls, pest control, utility (electricity,water,gas) controls, employee/contractor training, supplier controls related to facilities contractors, environmental legal compliance.
  • Supports and reinforces the importance of Environment, Health & Safety in the organization.
  • Implements strategies, policies and practices for the overall Environment, Health & Safety program.
  • Works with plant senior management team to integrate Environment, Health & Safety performance into plant operations.
  • Drives continuous improvement in Environment, Health & Safety performance, while assuring comprehensive operational compliance.
  • Act as the management representative for the Environmental Management System (EMS).  Sustain ISO 14001 certification through continuous improvement in the EMS.
  • Act as primary contact for BSC Spencer in communications with landlord(s), facilities services providers, local law enforcement, and local fire department.
  • Ensure safety and security of entire site.  Through corporate security develop and manage a site crisis management plan.  Respond to facilities related emergencies.
  • Manages building space allocations, layouts and facilities expansion projects.  Perform design review, value engineering, and construction management for related projects.
  • Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including collecting requirements, developing SOW, and developing estimates on equipment, labor, materials, and other related costs.
  • Maintain service agreements with contractor service providers such as: mechanical, electrical,  custodial, security, food services, and office services.
  • Manage inspection and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Define and publish metric reports for key performance parameters including utility data and equipment maintenance.
  • Analyze facilities processes and problems and identify, prioritize, coach and lead continuous improvement efforts utilizing problem solving methods.  Report project plans, progress, and results.
  • Direct team activities, establishing task priorities, scheduling and tracking work assignments, providing guidance, and ensuring the availability of resources.
  • Interacts with peers, managers, and senior management to develop consensus supporting facilities strategies and projects.  Partner with Corporate Facilities; learn of best practices and opportunities to benchmark other BSC site practices.
  • Fosters a culture of compliance by operating within guidelines, procedures, and legal requirements, leading by example, and focusing on risk assessment and elimination.
  • Review, approve, and coordinate change (CR), and NCR activities as required.
  • Direct departmental cost reduction activity and set cumulative goals both internally and externally with suppliers.  Report project plans, progress, and results.
  • Demonstrates adept use of PDM, HRConnect, and LMS.
  • Demonstrates adept project management skills, including project chartering, timeline development and management of deliverables.
  • Manages department budget activities.  Develop capital expenditure requests for facilities related expenditures.
  • Reports summary performance to senior management and elevates appropriately.

 
Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in facilities management
  • Supervisory experience
