About this role:

Boston Scientific is seeking a dynamic and driven Medical Affairs Manager to join our team. The Medical Affairs Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the strategic direction of medical affairs for specific therapeutic areas, ensuring clinical insights are integrated into different product plans, and ensuring alignment with regulatory and compliance guidelines. This role offers a unique opportunity to work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to drive innovation and support life-changing healthcare solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Clinical Expertise: Provide medical and scientific support to internal teams, ensuring clinical data is properly communicated and leveraged for decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals (HCPs), and academic institutions to gather insights and advocate for the safe and effective use of Boston Scientific products.
  • Medical Education and Training: Design and deliver medical education programs for internal teams, healthcare professionals, and external stakeholders.
  • Clinical Trial Support: Oversee and provide guidance on clinical studies, including study implementation, site selection and data dissemination. Collaborate with clinical operations to ensure alignment with scientific and commercial goals.
  • Critical Skillsets: Strategic thinking and planning; project management; clinically and technically astute, very comfortable presenting and discussing clinical data with physicians.
  • Understand and strategically deploy Medical Education and Clinical Communication resources at identified institutions by matching the institutions’ clinical data and clinical communication needs, as well as fellows educational and physician/HCP skills training needs to BSC resources.
  • Create strategic Medical Affairs plans for assigned institutions and geography.
  • Engage identified HCPs, KOLs and regional thought leaders to demonstrate the clinical outcome and benefits of company products, technologies and therapies, to exchange clinical, safety and comparative-effectiveness information, to explore clinical areas of need and to discuss corporate initiatives.
  • Effectively execute activities of major significance to the organization and serve as primary point of contact between institution and BSC MedEd/ClinComm.
  • Identify key opinion leaders (KOLs) in the industry, expert speakers, and well-known academicians who can deliver defined curriculum as well as provide technical and clinical insight with real-world applications of Boston Scientific products for use at Medical Education programs.
  • Assist in the execution of Medical Education program clinical tasks to include agenda development, faculty selection, needs assessment development support, acting as clinical lead for a program, review of presentations, faculty invitations and correspondence, and assistance with Technology Expo. Assist with the strategic planning and execution of local medical educational initiatives within assigned geography.
  • Maintain connection to specific franchises regarding developments in clinical data, commercial initiatives, and product updates or availability to both inform functions with VOC and to enable leveraging of the information with HCPs/institutions as appropriate.
  • Assist in activities related to Investigator Sponsored Research and Grant requests as appropriate and required

 

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree required in healthcare or related field
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in medical affairs or a related field within the healthcare or medical device industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with KOLs, HCPs, and internal stakeholders.
  • Upto 75% travel required

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong leadership capabilities, with experience managing and mentoring teams. 
  •  Preferred master's degree (MBA, MSc, MS, SM, MM, MHA, M.Bus, MASc)
  •  Ability to manage simultaneous priorities, changing deadlines, and limited resources
  •  Strategic skills and experience developing account-level or product-level business/strategic plans
  •  High sense of urgency, attention to detail, and commitment to execution
