About the role:

Provide support to the Manufacturing Engineers for sustaining and improving the performance of the manufacturing process with the objective of meeting business goals in terms of Safety, Quality, Service and Cost.

With general supervisory direction, you will be responsible for performing support functions for manufacturing operations, including troubleshooting equipment and process issues, and performing and documenting machine maintenance procedures.

 

Your Responsibilities include:

  • Provide day-to-day manufacturing support, evaluating and addressing production concerns and problems through troubleshooting of components, tooling, fixtures and processes to minimize down time and improve yield.
  • Repair and/or troubleshoot equipment, correcting processing problems as they occur.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment in the Value Stream.
  • Identify, design, and implement process equipment, tooling, and fixture changes to improve reliability of the process.
  • Implement productivity improvement projects resulting in improved manufacturing yields and efficiencies.
  • Revise existing documents, processes, and/or methods to correct or improve processes/product.
  • Train and provide technical support or direction to product builders and other technicians.
  • Author and manage changes within product lifecycle management software.
  • Must comply with requirements of ISO 14001 and BSC Environmental, Health and Safety standards and follow procedures and instructions related to these standards.

 

What we are looking for:

Minimum requirements:

  • 3 years of experience with Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education/ work experience 
  • The position requires demonstrated ability to understand, develop and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong technical aptitude.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel
  • Self-motivated to seek out opportunities to improve business performance.
  • Communicates well with peers about issues/problems that arise.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects independently
  • Must be adaptable to changing procedures; ability to learn new procedures due to changing products and technology. May be asked to cross train on a variety of department operations.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-year technical degree, professional certification or equivalent experience and 3+ years of related experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have previous experience with production processes, process improvement, testing, fixture design, prototyping and electrical, mechanical and controls troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with various inspection tools/equipment (micrometer, caliper, Keyence, Instron, CMM or Optiv equipment)
  • Experience with molding, extrusion, RF equipment, processing, laser/pad printing, UV systems, IR systems, wire forming, packaging, lean manufacturing, ergonomic analysis and solutions are also highly desirable.
