About the role:
Enterprise Information Solutions (EIS) plays a key role in providing research support and information resource access across all of Boston Scientific's business units. This Librarian II position will be a member of the EIS team and will provide support across all divisions and functional areas as required.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Research support: Leverage the EIS collection and other external sources to perform efficient and comprehensive clinical, biomedical, business and technical database searches; Seek new sources and creative solutions when appropriate; Deliver end products that are clear and structured to address the issues at hand; Guide customers in the use of the EIS collection when appropriate.
  • Infrastructure support: Refine and improve EIS processes and contribute to building a successful team and a service culture - This can manifest in a variety of project-based assignments under the guidance of the EIS Manager - Project examples include process and technology enhancement, customer education, marketing and outreach.
  • The Librarian is expected to drive his/her development path under the direction of the EIS Manager and in compliance with Company policy.  The  Librarian II should expect responsibilities to change over time as s/he gains experience in the position and as the information needs of the company change.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 years' experience in a corporate environment (marketing, advertising, etc.) 
  • Experience with and/or classwork in secondary research tools and information retrieval techniques
  • Minimal travel associated with role

Preferred qualifications:

  • MLIS/MLS degree or degree in process 
  • Excellent problem solving skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-pace environment; ability to prioritize, willingness to ask for guidance
  • Excellent people skills, strong team orientation to work across geographies, and professional attitude to allow agile and proactive responses to changing business demands and opportunities
  • Curiosity, desire and a demonstrated ability to quickly learn
