About the role:
Boston Scientific is recruiting for an agile, business-minded, passionate communicator to join our growing communications team and make meaningful contributions to our business by engaging key stakeholders in the Boston Scientific mission to transform lives through innovative medical solutions that improve the health of patients around the world. 
 
We are seeking a Leadership Communications Manager who can make meaningful contributions to our organization through strategic communications that engage, prepare and enable the organization for the future. 
 
The position reports into the Corporate Communications team and will work closely with the executive management for two of the company’s Cardiology business units: Cardiac Rhythm Management & Diagnostics and Electrophysiology. This role will develop and implement an internal communications strategy in close partnership with the presidents of each business unit.  These two divisions are based at the company’s Arden Hills, MN facility, with the ability for in-office accommodations or remote working arrangements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as counselor and thought partner to senior leadership on divisional messaging and communication strategies to engage internal and external stakeholders, with a primary focus on employee engagement.
  • Enable new and effective methods for developing compelling and interactive internal communications around strategy, business priorities, organizational changes and culture.
  • Create written communications, presentations, videos and succinct talking points for internal audiences, as well as external-facing presentations and thought leadership communications.
  • Implement the voice of business unit leadership and the Boston Scientific brand voice to maintain authenticity and style across all communications.
  • Develop and execute an editorial calendar and regular cadence of communications for core internal audiences.
  • Provide project management and tactical support to ensure the timely completion of high-quality deliverables.
  • Partner with corporate communications team members to identify divisional stories to elevate as part of a corporate narrative reaching global employees and the general public.
  • Coordinate and manage the cross-functional review and approval of content with company executives, divisional marketing, clinical, legal and regulatory leaders.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 7 years of employee engagement and leadership communications within a corporate or agency environment.
  • Demonstrates broad experience developing, executing and cascading strategic communications plans focused on employee engagement, change management and thought leadership.
  • Provides strategic counsel at all levels of the organization to ensure tailored messages are delivered to varying audiences by leveraging a variety of communication channels.
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication competencies with strong editing and proofreading capabilities.
  • Demonstrates business acumen, analytical skills with the ability to synthesize and translate complex ideas into a digestible format.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Healthcare communications experience is preferred.
  • Excels at project management, planning and time-management skills.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence and is adept at consensus-building and incorporating differing viewpoints into recommendations.
  • Adept at working in a team environment while also displaying independence, initiative and enterprise.
  • Regarded as a self-starter who consistently sets high standards and demonstrates a sense of urgency and personal accountability.
  • Performs as a solutions-oriented professional willing to propose new ideas and maintain high productivity while balancing competing priorities.
