Data & Analytics group is tasked with leading BSJ’s data future, enabling data-led innovation across functions, and delivering business value through implementing advanced data solutions and supporting data-driven decision making. As a senior data analyst / data scientist in Data & Analytics, you’ll be focused on exploring / experimenting / developing advanced data applications (statistical modeling, machine learning etc.) to solve real business issues and transform commercial business in a data-driven manner.


Key Responsibilities 

•    Interact with different functions to understand the business challenges, select appropriate analytic approaches, identify appropriate data and algorithms to solve the problem.
•    Design, prototype, and build a minimum viable product.
•    Develop best practices for analytics (models, standards, tools) and deployment to production environments.
•    Track the performance of models and the impact of analytics on business.
•    Collaborate with global counterparts to find out the best data solution for Japan market.
•    Engage with marketing, sales, and IT teams to enhance marketing programs and sales performance, as well as to cultivate a culture of effective data-driven decision-making.
•    Developing and documenting intellectual property


2+ years of professional work experience in a data science role.
Strong coding skills (Python, SQL)
Communication: business professional English
Experience presenting data science concepts and results to non-technical audiences.
Self-motivated independent worker
Detail-oriented, organized, and perform to a high level of accuracy in all tasks.
Highly adaptable, flexible, and willing to accept new ideas, processes, and procedures
Demonstrated cross-function teamwork in a technically demanding environment
In addition to those who meet the minimum requirements above, the qualifications below are preferred.

•    Experience in Bayesian statistical modeling, numerical optimization (operation research), machine learning application development, cloud engineering, BI reporting
•    Advantage technical skills: spark / pyspark, AWS, Tableau
•    Native Japanese speak or Japanese N1
•    Experience in developing and deploying prediction models in a B2B sales or marketing program.
