About the role:
The core objective of this Cardiac Rhythm Clinical Specialist role is to support the Divisional Manager in achieving the goals and objectives of the Division they represent. To aid the achievement of customer satisfaction and business growth through focused clinical support. 

 

This is a contract position with varying hours based on clinical need, and an estimated schedule of 2-3 days per week.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

Commercial Support: 

  • Under general direction, serve as the primary resource for clinical support consisting of pacemaker and ICD device implantation, troubleshooting, programming, and patient follow-up for  Cardiac Rhythm Management products.
  • Educate customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products by giving presentations and demonstrations using appropriate formats and platforms (e.g., slides, manuals) to keep all customers abreast of the latest product, therapy, and technology developments and current items of interest in the industry.
  • Perform clinical and library research and participate in case reviews and clinical observation by working with physicians and hospital lab staff.
  • Attend unit implants and support EP procedures in the labs and operation rooms of hospital accounts and perform patient follow-up to assure customer and patient success with the implanted products.
  • Meet with existing and potential clients to identify their clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care and to discuss and demonstrate how company products can help them to achieve their goals.
  • Develop business relationships with hospital personnel (e.g., through casual conversation, meetings, participation in conferences) to make new contacts in other departments within the hospital and to identify key decision-makers in order to facilitate future sales.
  • Respond to complex customer needs and complaints regarding products and services by developing creative and feasible solutions or working with other related personnel (e.g., sales, clinical, research, marketing, technical support) to develop optimal solutions.

Clinical Trial Support:

  • Manage and provide technical support for clinical trial activity within the assigned territory by supporting the site authorization process and study procedures as defined in the clinical investigational plan.
  • Provide initial and continuous training, education, and support for clinical center personnel on the clinical trial protocol, clinical process, products and features under investigation, and procedures involving those products and features.

 

Required qualifications:

  • University degree (BSc or equivalent) is strongly encouraged
  • Minimum of 2 years of medical device or hospital experience in a clinical support role in the cardiac sciences space
  • Knowledge of reading and interpreting ECGs
  • Experience and understanding of electrophysiology and device procedures
  • Track record of outstanding clinical support that drives excellence in the field
  • Strong business acumen and strategic problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel Canada-wide

Maximum Salary: $131800 

 

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for hourly, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for salaried, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for sales roles is governed by Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives).
