About the role

This position requires working closely with diverse teams both within Canada and on an international level, as well as leading physicians and surgeons, to develop and execute strategies and initiatives that drive the adoption of BSC technologies and contribute to business growth in the market.

 

The focus of this position will be towards the latest technologies in the Boston Scientific Peripheral Vascular portfolio, with a primary focus on TCAR (Transcarotid Arterial Revascularization), Drug Eluting Technology, and eventually other global expansion technologies such as IVL (Intravascular Lithotripsy). This role is pivotal in fostering relationships with key opinion leading physicians and surgeons, ensuring technical excellence among end-users, and providing guidance and support to the field team.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • TCAR Launch and Support
    • Plan and execute the launch of TCAR portfolio to Canadian market.
    • Clinically lead the training and support of TCAR system introduced at select limited launch centers.
    • Develop regional Centers of Excellence to provide high quality training to expand the user base across Canada.
    • Travel requirements are high: Successful Candidate will spend 3-4 days/week in hospitals across Canada working with key users and support staff to ensure high quality outcomes.
  • Marketing leadership and support
    • Manage the development and implementation of KOL advisory boards, customer programs, and networks. 
    • Build strong connections and relationships with divisional and global colleagues to draw added value and investment into Canada.
    • Support the execution of physician and lab staff training and education, organizing national education events that serve the business goals.
    • Develop and execute key Society engagement & management strategies & tactics to support advocacy.
    • Ensure the appropriate resources are available to the field team for them to execute stated strategies and tactics effectively.
    • Work within product team budgets, advising and developing future budget needs.
    • Attend customer and internal meetings to provide leadership and guidance, as necessary.
  • Sales team leadership and support
    • Provide a strong presence and leadership for the sales organization through constant contact and a view of the sales team as your primary customer.
    • Ensure efficient and effective field sales organization technical and selling training.
    • Be and efficient and effective conduit for information and resource flow between operations and the field team.
    • Monitor for opportunities and risks within sales metrics, connecting with the appropriate sales leaders, as needed.
  • Cross functional collaboration
    • Forecast business opportunities and risks in collaboration with key operational functions including Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Customer Service.
    • Engage key stakeholders to breakdown internal and external barriers to success.
  • Overall New Business planning
    • Define the core strategies for successful market growth in focus areas.
    • Establish and facilitate the implementation of the associated and appropriately vetted tactics for strategic execution.
    • Monitor for and define appropriate responses to changing market conditions.
    • Assist Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan processes.
  • Culture
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, partnership, team above the individual, and winning together at all times.
  • Other duties as required.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, sciences or other related discipline.
  • 8+ years of work medical experience, including 3+ years devoted to market development and/or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating in a highly clinical environment to implement marketing campaigns that support strategic business objectives.
  • Proven history of successful leadership of complex projects and collaboration within a multifunctional team.
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally, 50%+ of the time.

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • A history of working within the interventional market with Canadian Vascular Surgeons and Interventional Radiologists
  • Track record of market launches of complex vascular technologies leveraging clinical data and experience effectively.
  • A seasoned, experienced professional with previous Market Development Management experience, expertise, and ideally with an existing KOL network.
  • Ability to successfully manage and execute multiple concurrent initiatives using established product management tools and processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills in both English and French languages

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for hourly, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for salaried, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for sales roles is governed by Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives).
