Principal Technical Support Engineer
 

About the role:
This position is utilized for a number of reasons, including the escalation of issues reported in the field for resolution, product and technical training of Engineers, Sales Reps, Patient Care representatives, as well as collection and analysis of programming data in the field.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide support to the field in the OR as a DBS Tech Support liaison.
  • Conduct quarterly round table meetings with the field to assist with education on trending issues and how to troubleshoot.
  • Understand and complete NCEPs and CAPAs.
  • Manage and make warranty decisions on replacing implanted product(s) including the IPG and leads.  Also assist Patient Care Reps and manage the warranty replacement process for patient’s externals.
  • Train Patient Care reps on a variety of topics in support of their job function, including product function, anatomy, technical details of products, troubleshooting, and other associated areas.
  • Act as a liaison between the field reps and internal staff (Quality and R&D) helping to diagnose and review new issues which come up.
  • Assist Marketing in launch of new products to the field, including training of engineers and Patient Care reps, as well as making support recommendations and summary reporting of complaints as they arise.
  • Handle corporate wide complaints.
  • Partner with the Clinical Integration Specialist team by troubleshooting complex cases.
  • Manage multiple projects 

 

What we’re looking for in you:
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors in STEM related fields
  • 5+ years of related work experience in healthcare, medical device, or pharmaceutical
  • Strong analytic and strategic thinking ability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years in medical industry
  • 3+ years working with deep brain stimulation or Parkinson’s disease
  • Prior experience as a field engineer in medical industry
